WORLD IP DAY 2026 YOUTH VIDEO COMPETITION

Celebrate the power of sports and intellectual property (IP) with the World IP Day Youth Video Competition. They invite individuals and groups to create and submit a 60- to 90-second video showcasing how IP rights fuel innovation and creativity in the sports world.

ELIGIBILITY:

You can enter the competition alone or team up with friends for a group entry (up to 10 participants), but not both. Each person or group gets just one entry. You, or at least one person in your group, need to be between 18 and 35 years old when you submit your application.

The theme of the competition is “Game Changers: IP Powering Sports Innovation.” They’re looking for videos that explore how innovation, creativity, and IP rights are transforming the world of sports. Your video can tell a story, highlight an invention, or share an idea that shows how IP helps drive progress, inspire change, and shape the future of sports. You may wish to focus on one or more of the following areas:

How IP supports innovation and creativity in sports.

How inventors, creators, and entrepreneurs are redefining the game.

The impact of IP-driven solutions on athletes, fans, or the broader sports industry.

Your video has not been published previously online. 

The video has not been recognized and/or won an award in another competition.

The video was made by you or your group, and you must have obtained permission to use any third-party content included in it.

You must provide proof of authorization to use any background music recordings or sound recordings featured in your video. 

Your video does not include watermarks or any other similar markings.

Your video is in MP4 format and between 60 and 90 seconds long.

Your video does not contain any embedded subtitles or captions.

Videos may include audio narrative in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish.

Your video must not violate any copyrighttrademarkspatentstrade secretsindustrial designs, distinctive signs, contractual obligations, or any other IP rights or other proprietary rights of any third party.

Your video may include the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in making your video
