Work Abroad: 13 International Paid Internship Programmes for Students & Graduates

For recent graduates, finding international jobs within or outside their countries of origin can be a daunting task, especially as a young, recently graduated or about to graduate applicant who wants to see the world. Going through applicants’ requirements on LinkedIn and other job boards for jobs in your profession, especially for entry level positions can be frustrating, requirements like ”1 year+ experience” makes you wonder if all these years at the university was for nothing?

Well, you are not alone, many experts today were once in this position as recent graduates and it gets better with time. Here is a non-exhaustive list of 13 global companies offering opportunities and jobs to recent graduates or about-to-graduates.

1. NOVO NORDISK 

– The Early Career/Graduate programme

This is a 2-year global trainee programme which offers the trainees an opportunity and to continue their journey as permanent employees at one of Novo Nordisk’s offices. This is open to graduates from universities all over the world irrespective of citizenship.

Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company, founded in 1923 and headquartered just outside Copenhagen, Denmark. The application process typically begins in November and ends in January every year.  Selected candidates will continue through an interview process with final candidates invited to attend the Graduate Recruitment Centre.  Hired candidates will typically begin the Graduate Programme in September. 2. AIRBUS

– The Airbus Global Graduate Programme (AGGP)

This is a 2-year global trainee programme and graduates from all over the world are welcomed to apply. Airbus is looking for graduates of multiple backgrounds like  Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Customer Support, Procurement, Cyber etc.

This is a career accelerator providing participants with various opportunities ranging from mentorship, global professional network and an opportunity for a permanent position at the company. 3. HEINEKEN

– The HEINEKEN International Graduate Programme

– Audi Global Graduate Program

This programme is a career-starter. With hands-on training by industry experts, this is an opportunity to  gain international experience, connection and skills that prepares you for a sound career. LDC’s three programmes offer graduates across the world the opportunity to develop skills and expertise in line with their professional aspirations. This is a 4-year paid position within various program, location and business context. KONE is a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry.

KONE International Trainee Program (ITP) is for university students who are at least halfway through their studies. Good English language skills are essential for an International Trainee. In the program you will face interesting challenges and become acquainted with KONE as a global company.
