WORLD BIENNIAL EXHIBITION OF STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHY NOVI SAD

Application Deadline: 27th of October 2023. at midnight, CET (Central European Time).

LOCATION: Serbia

The Student World Biennial, in the organization of the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad, was first held in 2004.  It gathers, via public competition, students’ work in one place, thus presenting a section of pedagogical practices of diverse art institutions worldwide in the form of a group exhibition.

ELIGIBILITY:

The World Biennial of Student Photography is open to all undergraduate and graduate students of academies and colleges where the discipline of photography is part of the curriculum.

Theme: there is no prescribed theme to the competition; we welcome all subjects and themes realized within the study programme. All photographs must represent the student’s original work created as part of photographic practice at their educational institution, which is verified in application form.

All participants must be full or part-time students enrolled into an academic institution (university or college) at the time of applying for the competition.

Format: the shorter side of the image should not exceed 35cm, 300 dpi sRGB, JPG or PDF. The files should not exceed 10 MB per image. The name of the photography files must contain the name and surname of the student. For example if student’s name is Johann Strauss the file name should be Johann Strauss 1.jpg, Johann Strauss 2.jpg, Johann Strauss 3.jpg.

Technique: There are no limitations on techniques or realization of the photographs.

There is no entry fee.

Special prize awarded by non-government organization “Vojvodina OK” for the best student project in the national category.

All the entrants who pass the selection for the exhibition will be sent a certificate of participation by email.

AFRICAN CAREER ACCELERATION FELLOWSHIPS

Applications to the second round of Crick Africa Network fellowships are now open. The Crick Africa Network (CAN) is offering African Career Acceleration Fellowships supported by LifeArc for early-career biomedical scientists to develop translational scientific programmes and become independent scientists.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible to apply for the African Career Acceleration Fellowship you must have:

Citizenship or permanent residency status for an African country

A PhD in a relevant field with two to five years of postdoctoral experience, or a clinical PhD (MBChB) with at least three years of relevant research experience

A strong track record indicating potential as a scientific leader on the African continent

A strong translational science proposal in one of the CAN research areas

Approached and reached an agreement regarding your proposed science with your mentor in your chosen African partner institute and your chosen mentor at the Crick before submitting your scientific proposal.

In exceptional circumstances we may accept a candidate with less than two years’ postdoctoral experience. If this is the case, please contact the CAN programme manager, Jennifer Brown at can-fellowships@crick.ac.uk to discuss before submitting your application. 

BENEFIT:

LifeArc-sponsored African Career Acceleration Fellowship will provide four years of funding and be hosted primarily in one of five African partner institutions

The fellowships will cover salary, research costs, research assistant salary, and travel and subsistence costs.
