PEP: AFRICA FELLOWS IN EDUCATION PROGRAM 2025/2026 CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Global Education Analytics Institute (GEAI), in collaboration with PEP, invites young African researchers who are motivated to improve education and could benefit from additional support to submit an expression of interest in AFEP. The Africa Fellows in Education Program (AFEP) aims to address this local capacity gap and improve education decision-making across Sub-Saharan Africa. 

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for this call, applicants must: 

Be a national of a Sub-Saharan African country; 

Have an MA or PhD degree, preferably in Economics, education policy, social/public policy, development studies or international development, with a strong focus on education. While a PhD is not mandatory, GEAI and PEP encourage fresh PhD  graduates who can benefit from mentorship and additional training to become solid researchers; 

Be proficient in quantitative data analysis, with a strong knowledge of data analysis software such as R and Stata;  

Not be older than 35 years old; 

Demonstrate interest in education policy research and analysis; 

Work for the government or have an affiliation at either a research or higher education institution in a Sub-Saharan African country and intend to do so for the foreseeable future; 

Qualified females are strongly encouraged to apply. 

BENEFIT:

The funding includes a $35K research (cash) grant. The program will also directly cover up to $25K in expenses for mentorship, study visits, conference travel, and in-country workshops to share research findings and training.

AYUTE AFRICA NEXTGEN 2025 CHALLENGE

The AYuTe Africa NextGen is offering something new for African agriculture. They invite young agripreneurs to showcase their transformative innovations that are enhancing Africa’s food systems by driving transformative changes in smallholder farming and redefining agriculture as a promising and rewarding career.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be considered for the regional AYuTe Africa NextGen, you must:

Have a minimum of three years of experience working with smallholder farmers in Africa, with demonstrated impact on their revenue.

Must be operating in one of the following sectors:
Access to Finance

Access to Market

Access to Energy

Climate Smart Solutions and Resilience

Registered and operating in Sub-Saharan Africa

Show your organization has a sustainable business model that will allow it to stay profitable as it expands operations to serve more smallholder farmers.

Demonstrate that you are providing a truly innovative product or service, offering unique solutions rather than duplicates.

Proven demand among smallholder farmers and affordability.

BENEFIT:

Selected companies receive part of a $1.5 million catalytic grant, along with technical support to scale their solutions and expand their impact.
