ISS DAKAR: JUNIOR FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME, 2025–2026

LOCATION: Senegal

The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and the Bosch Foundation are empowering West Africa’s next generation of policy leaders through a flagship program on ‘Gender, human security, and geopolitics.’ Exceptional young West Africans (especially women) are invited to apply for the first intake of four fellows.

ELIGIBILITY:

As a fellow, you will spend 10 months working with leading African experts in Dakar to understand the governance challenges preventing West Africa from reaching its full potential. You will gain rare access to top decision-makers and help craft policy solutions. Fellows have a unique opportunity to build connections that unlock various careers in human security policymaking and practice.

Be a citizen of any West African country

Be under 30 years of age

Hold a Master’s degree in international relations, political science, law, anthropology, sociology, or related fields

Have a strong interest in security, gender, democracy, governance, or geopolitics

Be fluent in English or French; additional West African languages are a plus

Be a confident communicator, self-motivated, and eager to grow in a dynamic team

7TH INTERNATIONAL POSTER COMPETITION THEMED: “WE WANT JAZZ”

LOCATION: Poland

The 7th international jazz competition was organized by the EUROJAZZ Foundation for the Popularization of Jazz Music, the publisher of the RadioJAZZ.FM online radio and the JazzPRESS magazine.

Theme: “We want Jazz”

ELIGIBILITY:

Entry is FREE.

The competition is open. We welcome both students and professionals.

The competition participants are asked to design a poster. The topic is “IN JAZZ WE HOPE.”

TECHNICAL PARAMETERS OF POSTERS: Each author may submit a maximum of 3 posters / dimensions: 70×100 cm (vertical) / file format: JPG / colors: CMYK / resolution: 200 dpi / Please note! SIGN FILE NAME: country_surname_first-name_poster-title.jpg

The poster does not have to include the competition title! Works that do not meet all technical parameters will not be evaluated by the jury!

DATES: Deadline for submitting works: September 5, 2025 / Competition results: September 2025 / Final exhibition of the competition: September 2025.

The organizers will select the submitted posters. Selecting 25 works from among them. Out of the selected 25 final posters, three winning posters will be chosen, whose authors will receive a final prize. The jury will also award distinctions. The selection of posters and the selection of winning work will be made by a jury appointed for this purpose, consisting of experts and representatives of the organizer. The results of the competition will be announced on September, 2025, on the website JAZZPRESS and on social media.

Please be advised that the author, by submitting his works, grants the organizer of the project, free of charge and for an indefinite period of time, a non-exclusive license to use the submitted works. Under the license, the organizer of the competition is authorized to use the works in all fields of exploitation known at the time of granting the license, in particular:

Recording and multiplying the works by creating copies of the work by printing, reprographics, magnetic recording, and digital techniques,

Lending or renting the original or copies of the work,

Publicly exhibiting, displaying, and making the works publicly available in such a way that everyone can access them at a place and time of their choice.

The project organizer may sublicense the use of the works to other entities in the scopes listed above. By submitting works to the exhibition, the participant declares that they have the proprietary copyrights to the work and its ’submitted digital version and agrees to publish their name, surname, and nationality.

BENEFIT:

12 000 PLN which consists of the following:

1st prize—PLN 6,000

2nd prize—PLN 3,500

3rd prize—PLN 2,500

The amount of the prizes is the gross amount and will be reduced by the tax due on the prizes.
