UNITED NATIONS YOUNG LEADERS FOR THE SDGS

The Young Leaders for the SDGs initiative recognizes exceptional young people who are leading efforts to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Every two years, 17 young leaders are selected to work with the United Nations and its partners to accelerate SDG implementation and engage other young people in this crucial work.

ELIGIBILITY:

Age at the time of application: 15-35 years old

Working-level proficiency in English

They actively seek applications from young people of all backgrounds, particularly young women and girls, youth with disabilities, indigenous youth, LGBTIQ+ youth, refugees and migrants, and rural youth, among others.

Complete the application form by Friday, 18 April at 11:59 PM EST.

FULLY FUNDED GERMAN GOVERNMENT WASCAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR AFRICANS

The West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL), under the sponsorship of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is pleased to announce application for its International Master’s Programme in Energy and Green Hydrogen (IMP-EGH) in all fifteen (15) ECOWAS countries

ELIGIBILITY:

ECOWAS countries namely: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.

The International Master’s Programme in Energy and Green Hydrogen (IMP-EGH) is innovative for the West African region, and it is designed to prepare the next generation to address the energy challenges of adaptation and resilience to Climate Change in West Africa. The programme’s interdisciplinary approach will allow for a better understanding of present-day energy infrastructures in West Africa, their strengths and weaknesses, energy policies, practices in a changing climate context and the search for sustainable solutions.

Master’s programmes: Economics/Policies/Infrastructures and Green Hydrogen Technology, Université Cheikh Anta Diop – Senegal 

Bioenergy/Biofuels and Green Hydrogen Technology, University of Lomé – Togo

Photovoltaic and system Analysis for Green Hydrogen Technologies, Université Abdou Moumouni – Niger

Green Hydrogen Production and Technology/Geo-resources (Wind/Water) And Green Hydrogen Technology, Université Felix Houphouet Boigny – Côte D’ivoire

Duration: 28 months; 4 months for language training (proficiency) and 24 months for the master programmes.
