THE KIDS RIGHTS INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S PEACE PRIZE

Application Deadline: March 1st, 2024.

LOCATION: The Netherlands

The nominations for the International Children’s Peace Prize are open until March 1st, 2024. KidsRights annually awards the prestigious International Children’s Peace Prize to a child who fights courageously for children’s rights.

ELIGIBILITY:

The nomination requirements are the following: 

Any person above the age of 18 or an organization can nominate a child 

The child must be between the age of 12 and 17 by the time of the nomination deadline 

The child can be from any country in the world 

The child must have a demonstrable history of standing up and fighting for the rights of children, including himself or herself 

The child needs to be able to travel abroad and feel comfortable communicating with other people. In fact, if they are chosen as the winner, they will need to travel to the ceremony and be able to communicate their message to different stakeholders 

The child agrees to being nominated for the International Children’s Peace Prize 

BENEFIT:

The winner receives: 

The “Nkosi” statuette which depicts a child that sets the world in motion 

The “Desmond Tutu study and care fund” to enable the child to obtain an education 

A project fund of € 100.000, which is invested by KidsRights in relevant children’s rights projects that are closely connected to the winner’s area of work

IUPAC-RICHTER PRIZE – CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Application Deadline: 15 December, 2023

LOCATION: Italy

The prize is to be awarded to an internationally recognized scientist, preferably a medicinal chemist, whose activities or published accounts have made an outstanding contribution to the practice of medicinal chemistry or to an outstanding example of new drug discovery.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants should be received by NOMINATION only, with just one person needing to serve in that capacity, although a total of five (5) individuals should be listed as referees overall. The package must be submitted electronically and should contain a complete resume, a professional biography of not more than two pages, and a one-page summary of what the individual considers to be their activities, accomplishments and/or publications that have had the most significant impact upon the field of Medicinal Chemistry. The material will be forwarded confidentially to an independent selection committee appointed by the IUPAC Subcommittee on Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Development.
