NIGERIA YOUTH FUTURES FUND YOUNG LEADERS’ DEVELOPMENT FUNDS

The Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF) seeks grant applications from qualified individuals and organizations for the 2023/24 youth leaders’ development funds. The grant aims to strengthen, support, and promote youth ecosystem building in the country. The grants will be awarded to individuals and organizations working in line with the thematic areas of interest. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Individual-level:

The applicant must be a Young activist (aged 15- 35 years) with a proven track record, working on a Youth development project capable of social change across any of the thematic areas. 

The applicant must demonstrate a good understanding and experience in strategic planning, project management, and implementation.

The applicant must demonstrate experience and knowledge of community or team building following principles of honesty and integrity.

The applicant must have genuine means of identification or attached to an institution. 

The applicant must provide 2 reputable referees.

Organization Level

Applicant must be registered with the corporate affairs commission of Nigeria or any authorized state/local level commission. The evidence of registration must be provided.  Otherwise, unregistered organizations can form a cluster and apply through a registered organization. 

Applicant must have a physical address, a corporate account with good financial standing, and records 

Applicant must be open to partnering with the other Youths and the NYFF community when implementing the project. 

Applicant must have good antecedents and proper track records. 

Applicant must provide 2 reputable referees.

Catalyst grant applicants must be civic hubs into Youth-driven activities within the region where the organization is based.

Catalyst grant applicants must have partnership capacities in all the states of their geopolitical region.

Catalyst grant applicants must have the capacity to support other organizations in the areas of capacity building and institutional strengthening. 

BENEFIT:

Small Grant – $1,000 (60 Individuals)

Development Grant – $10,000 (64 Organisations)

Catalyst Grant – $50,000 (6 Youth Hubs)

ASHINAGA AFRICA INITIATIVE COHORT 11

LOCATION: Sub-Saharan Africa

The Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI) is an international leadership program that cultivates the next generation of leaders to contribute to the development of sub-Saharan Africa.

ELIGIBILITY:

Ashinaga will select students from each Sub-Saharan African country to participate in a Study Camp in Uganda or Senegal from July to December 2024.

AAI Scholars have lost one or both parents and are committed to returning to sub-Saharan Africa to initiate change, innovation, and development. 

Scholars have the responsibility to return to their home countries or Sub-Saharan Africa within four years after graduating and contribute to the country/region while living there for at least one year. They will have to contact Ashinaga during this period to provide information about their activity and residency.

Scholars are encouraged to apply to the universities that Ashinaga has an existing relationship with, therefore it is not possible for students to choose universities themselves. Please note Ashinaga does not support candidates for medical (doctor), dentistry, veterinary science or pharmacy degrees although it does support three or four-year degrees in biomedicine.

BENEFIT:

The AAI helps students access full financial support to study abroad. The support covers the first possible qualification that can be earned, and the costs of a foundation or preparatory course will also be covered if required. Ashinaga has regional offices to support students during studies in Japan, the U.K., the U.S.A., France and Brazil. Scholars will participate in a mandatory internship in their home country or Sub-Saharan Africa and join Ashinaga’s leadership development programmes. The AAI does not accept applications from students who wish to study for a second degree or master’s degree.
