MAXWELL KING PHD SCHOLARSHIP

The Maxwell King Scholarship (MKS) is named after Professor Maxwell King, who has made an outstanding contribution to graduate research at Monash University, including eight years as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Research Training).

This prestigious scholarship is available to help support a student undertaking a PhD with living costs whilst studying at Monash.

ELIGIBILITY:

You must be one of the following:

An Australian citizen

A New Zealand citizen

Australian permanent resident

Australian humanitarian visa holder

An International student

You must meet the following criteria:

have submitted a scholarship application in the current year;

meet Monash’s competitive scholarship selection process requirements; and

meet Monash English language proficiency requirements.

This scholarship is also available to students undertaking Joint Research Awards when Monash University is the home institution.

Application for graduate research scholarships is done at the time of applying for your course, unless you are already enrolled.  A single application is used for both admission and scholarship. You do not need to specify which scholarship you are applying as you are automatically considered for all graduate research scholarships (where eligible).

Number offered:

Two scholarships per year:

one in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) disciplines.

one in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

BENEFIT:

Total scholarship value: $50,291 p.a (2024 rate)

The MKS provides:

living allowance (stipend);

research allowance; and

relocation allowance, if eligible.
