ROYAL GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY RAN AND GINNY FIENNES AWARD

Application Deadline: 30 November 2025

LOCATION: United Kingdom

The Ran and Ginny Fiennes Award supports humanitarian, scientific or educational projects that follow in the Transglobe Expedition’s tradition of challenge and perseverance. The Ran and Ginny Fiennes Award is designed to support the next generation of emerging travelers and expeditioners, reflecting the spirit, dedication and inspirational values of the Transglobe Expedition.

ELIGIBILITY:

All prospective grant applicants are encouraged to read our guidance for Society grants, which includes more information about the grants programme, its conditions, how to apply and what is expected if your application is successful.

Applicants may be from anywhere in the world.

Please note, for applications to the Ran and Ginny Fiennes Award, applicants should arrange for two reference letters to be sent directly to grants@rgs.org

Applicants should also submit a full risk assessment, emergency response plan and ethics assessment alongside their application.

In very exceptional cases where a strong proposal is put forward that answers a very near-term need in response to an immediate event or opportunity, applications will be accepted and reviewed outside of the annual awarding cycle.

Applicants should email grants@rgs.org in the first instance to receive guidance as to whether a full application might be appropriate.
