SCIENCES PO MASTERCARD FOUNDATION SCHOLARS GRADUATE PROGRAM

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is open to students who are admitted onto a master’s programme at Sciences Po and who meet the eligibility criteria for the scholarship. Students receive the scholarships and financial aid throughout the two years of their master’s programme. 

ELIGIBILITY:

You must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program:

Not already holding a Master’s degree.

Only students admitted to a master’s programme at Sciences Po can join the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Sciences Po. You can apply to any of the Master’s degree programmes offered at Sciences Po’s Graduate Schools, except the dual degree programmes and the one-year master’s programme.

Hold citizenship in a country within Africa.  Candidates who hold a second citizenship from a country outside the African continent are not eligible.

Have completed or be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree programme at one of Sciences Po’s institutions of reference (see the list of institutions).
Or Have completed or are currently enrolled in a training foundation or mentoring programme offered by a bridging programme organisation partnering with the Mastercard Foundation (see the list of institutions).

Be in genuine need of funding for your higher education (please note: documents proving your financial situation will be required for your application).

Show a commitment to achieving change in Africa, particularly in the areas of public policy and major political, environmental and societal transitions.

Be under 35 when you begin your Master’s programme

Please note that to be admitted at Sciences Po, you must meet the minimum academic requirements depending on your university’s country of origin.

BENEFIT:

Scholarships cover the full cost of tuition and living expenses in France throughout the recipient’s time studying at Sciences Po.

MESPOM CONSORTIUM/ERASMUS MUNDUS JOINT MASTERS (EMJM) SCHOLARSHIPS

The MESPOM Consortium of four universities—Central European University (Austria), Lund University (Sweden), the University of Manchester (UK), and the University of the Aegean (Greece)—is inviting applications for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management (MESPOM) for studies in 2026-2028. 

ELIGIBILITY:

MESPOM invites applicants from all countries. Successful applicants must have a good first degree (3.5 GPA or above, a Bachelor or analogue) in a subject related to environmental sciences, policy or management; in the natural or social sciences; or in engineering or management. Candidates with other first degrees will also be considered if they show commitment to environmental challenges, usually through voluntary or professional work. All applicants should demonstrate proficiency in English. Admission to MESPOM is highly competitive and is based on the academic and intellectual excellence of applicants as well as their motivation and prior experience.  

Central European University organizes the application process on behalf of the MESPOM Consortium. All applications for the 2026-2028 study period should be submitted online, along with the necessary documents, by the following deadlines: 

January 7, 2026: For individuals applying for Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters scholarships 
April 15, 2026: For self-financing applicants who are citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA area and require a study visa 
July 15, 2026: For self-financing applicants who are citizens of EU/EEA countries

Selected applicants will be requested to provide proof of residency.

BENEFIT:

The European Commission’s Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) scholarships are offered to outstanding students from both within and outside Europe. The scholarships cover travel, visa, installation and subsistence costs for the whole duration of the programme. MESPOM is also admitting students on a self-financing basis.  (Further details at mespom.eu/finances).
