THE FT AFRICAN JOURNALISM FELLOWSHIP WITH ONE WORLD MEDIA

The FT is looking for a great writer with some experience who can break down a complex story in simple language, compellingly, in a way that has wide appeal and relatability. The selected Fellow will produce a piece of long-form journalism – an economic or business story from the region that resonates with FT’s global audience. 

ELIGIBILITY:

For the FT Africa Journalism Fellow, projects should focus on stories, topics or issues in, about or related to countries across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The FT Africa Journalism Fellowship is for print/text and and multimedia stories.

The FT Africa Journalism Fellowship is open to mid-career journalists working in written form, based in and from Sub-Saharan Africa.

 Projects at planning or early reporting stages, where the main reporting has not yet taken place are supported.

AFRICA EPIDEMIC SERVICE PUBLIC HEALTH INFORMATICS, EPIDEMIOLOGY, LABORATORY LEADERSHIP

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention is an autonomous technical Agency established by the African Union (AU) to enhance the capacity, capabilities, and partnerships of Africa’s public health institutions. 

ELIGIBILITY:

This program targets qualified applicants from Africa Union Member states drawn from public health discipline, with an interest in practicing applied Epidemiology. AES Fellows will be selected from a wide variety of disciplines including Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, Environmental Health, Occupational Health as well as other associated disciplines under public health. Successful applicants are leaders who aspire to master applied epidemiology and are willing to accept assignments in a wide range of public health topics across the 55 African Union Member States.

BENEFIT:

Africa CDC will provide all learning and development materials and meet all costs associated with the fellowship, including travelrelated costs (e.g., airfare, lodging, incidentals), stipends, hardware, and insurance. Fellows will be supported to ensure that they have the relevant software and sufficient Internet connectivity for online learning.
