BOLDEST AFRICAN AGRIPRENEURS, FRONT AND CENTRE GOGETTAZ AGRIPRENEUR PRIZE COMPETITION

The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition 2026 rewards Africa’s most innovative young food and agribusiness entrepreneurs with funding, mentorship, and global visibility. The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition is one of Africa’s leading platforms for youth-led agribusiness ventures, recognising innovative, scalable and impact-driven solutions across the food system.

ELIGIBILITY:

Any business in agrifood systems including but not limited to production, aggregation & logistics, agro-processing, digital innovations etc

All six criteria must be met at the time of submission.

Aged 18–35 on the date of submission to the competition

Hold nationality (with an official ID) from an African Union member state

Your venture is headquartered in an African Union member state

Your venture is legally registered in an AU member state (or will be registered by 28 June 2026)

You are the founder or co-founder and play an active role in its operations and leadership

No criminal record related to corruption, tax evasion, financial impropriety, or any felony

BENEFIT:

A $50,000 cash prize award for 1 male & 1 female led promising businesses. Impact awards—$60,000 total: $15,000 to each business excelling in key areas including Technology & Innovation, Nutrition & Food Security, Job Creation, Climate Resilience and Gender Equity.

UNESCO SULTAN QABOOS PRIZE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION

Applications open for the 2026 UNESCO Sultan Qaboos Prize for Environmental Conservation. Nominations are now open for the 2026 edition of the UNESCO Sultan Qaboos Prize for Environmental Conservation, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the protection and management of the environment worldwide. 

ELIGIBILITY:

The prize honours individuals, groups, institutes, or organizations that have made significant contributions to environmental conservation in line with UNESCO’s mission. Eligible achievements may include environmental and natural resources research, environmental education and training, awareness-raising initiatives, and activities related to the establishment and management of protected areas such as Biosphere Reserves, World Heritage sites, and UNESCO Global Geoparks. 

Nominations must be submitted by governments or non-governmental organizations maintaining official relations with UNESCO; self-nominations are not accepted.  

Each submission should include: 

A completed nomination form

A written recommendation, and

The names of three independent referees familiar with the candidate’s work.  

The deadline for nominations is 15 June 2026, and submissions should be sent to the Secretariat of the Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme (mab@unesco.org).  

UNESCO particularly encourages nominations supporting female candidates, reflecting the Organization’s commitment to gender equality and inclusive leadership in environmental conservation.   

BENEFIT:

Awarded every two years, the prize includes a certificate and a financial award of US$100,000 and will be presented during the World Science Forum in November 2026.
