ETH4D DOCTORAL MENTORSHIP GRANTS

Application Deadlines: There are four application deadlines per year: 31 January, 30 April, 30 June, 31 October. Next application deadline is 31 January 2024.

LOCATION: Switzerland

ETH4D provides grants for mentoring doctoral candidates from low- and lower-middle-income countries. The mentorship is a one-year appointment. More information can be found in the DownloadETH4D Doctoral Mentorship Programme

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligible are doctoral candidates who are registered at a university or research institute in a least-​ developed, low-​ and lower-​middle-income country according to the DownloadOECD/DAC 2022 – 2023 list (PDF, 204 KB)vertical_align_bottom

The application needs to be submitted by the ETH professorship hosting the doctoral candidate. Applications directly submitted by the doctoral candidate will NOT be considered.

BENEFIT:

The grant covers expenses up to a maximum of 15,000 CHF and includes the following:

Economy roundtrip ticket (max. 2,000 CHF) to and from Switzerland for the research stay

Visa fees

Travel allowance to attend an academic conference

Research material (e.g. lab equipment) (max 6, 000 CHF in total).

Fees for health insurance

Local transportation

Accommodation

Living allowance for the duration of the research stay at ETH Zurich

WORLD HABITAT AWARDS

Application Deadline: Sunday 3 March, 2024

LOCATION: United Kingdom

World Habitat Awards recognise and highlight innovative, outstanding and sometimes revolutionary housing ideas, projects and programmes from across the world.

ELIGIBILITY:

Projects from around the world that:

focus on affordable and adequate housing;

have taken action to address the climate emergency;

are in progress or have been completed in the last ten years;

are taking steps to promote diversity, equality and inclusion; and

have been designed and/ or delivered in close collaboration with the residents/ local community

BENEFIT:

The two GOLD Award-winning projects receive:

a trophy in recognition of their work to develop and deliver good practice in housing;

prize money of £10,000;

follow-up support from World Habitat through our exChange programme; and

entry to the World Habitat Awards Network, along with the Silver and Bronze winners.
