ECU HIGHER DEGREE BY RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS

These scholarships are designed to support postgraduate students of outstanding research promise undertaking a higher degree by research at ECU. The scholarships are offered on the basis of academic merit and research performance. Successful applicants will be awarded either the ECU Higher Degree by Research Scholarship or the RTP Stipend Scholarship.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applies to: Domestic,  International,  Postgraduate Research

These scholarships are open to individuals who are prospective and current ECU students.

In order to apply for these scholarships you must have a PhD, Integrated PhD or Master by Research course offer.

Have been made an offer of a place in an ECU Higher Degree by PhD, Integrated PhD research course or Master by Research

If course admission applications have been submitted prior to the scholarship closing date but not assessed or approved prior to scholarship ranking, applications will be considered but applicants will only be provided a conditional scholarship offer, if successful.

BENEFIT:

These scholarships include tuition fee sponsorship and a stipend of $35,000 per annum paid fortnightly via electronic funds transfer. Other benefits include a relocation allowance for domestic students (where applicable) and partial reimbursement of Overseas Student Health Cover for International students (where applicable). The duration of the scholarship is up to 3 years full-time for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and up to 2 years full-time for a Master by Research.

CURTIN UNIVERSITY HDR SCHOLARSHIP, SCHOOL OF MOLECULAR AND LIFE SCIENCES PHD SCHOLARSHIP

LOCATION: Australia

Three PhD student scholarships are available in the School of Molecular and Life Sciences at Curtin University, Australia. The successful candidates will work with Associate Professor Guohua Jia on his Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellowship project (2D nanomaterial heterostructures for photocatalytic hydrogen production), ARC Discovery project (Inorganic/organic Hybrids for flexible thermoelectric generators) and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem – Zelman Cowen Academic Initiatives (ZCAI) Joint Project (Modern X-ray detectors based on 2D metal halide perovskites). These projects aim to develop inorganic nanocrystals with controlled size, shape, composition that are responsive to light, heat and x-ray towards energy harvesting and storage, thermoelectric and optoelectronic devices. This scholarship application is open until filled.

Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree (first-class honours or upper second-class honours) in Chemistry, Materials Engineering or related fields.

Applicants with either Master or Bachelor degrees with scientific publications and research experiences in chemistry, materials science, electronic devices or related fields are preferred.

The successful candidate will receive a stipend valued around $29,000 per annum.

The duration of the scholarship shall be for three years with a possible extension of up to six months, provided the student meets eligibility guidelines as per the conditions of the award.

The scholarship will cover tuition fees for the duration of the award.
