GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR EXCELLENT FOREIGN STUDENTS (EFS) TYPE B SIRINDHORN INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, THAMMASAT UNIVERSITY

Scholarships from the Sirindhorn Technology Scholarship Fund are available for excellent students from reputable universities of any foreign country to study in a master’s or doctoral degree program at Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Thammasat University, Thailand. These scholarships are available for the following research interests:

Industrial Engineering and Logistics Systems

Civil Engineering

Digital Engineering

Computer Engineering/Science

Energy Technology/Management

Materials Engineering/Science/Technology

Engineering Management

Mechanical Engineering

ELIGIBILITY:

For prospective students in the academic semester 2/2025 (January 2026): Master’s degree (2-year curriculum) and Doctoral degree (3-year curriculum)

Must not be of Thai nationality

Has an excellent academic record (preferably ranked within the top 20 percent of the class)

Meet qualifications of SIIT graduate program admissions

Provides two strong recommendation letters (at least one recommendation letter must come from an academic instructor/advisor)

Provide your referees’ official/professional email addresses (email addresses given by their institute/company/university) in the referees’ information section of the online application form. Personal email addresses are not allowed.

Has good health and good conduct

Must not be a recipient of another type of scholarship

Maintains a cumulative GPA of not less than 3.25

Makes good progress on his/her master’s thesis/doctoral dissertation and reports his/her progress every semester

Assists in the institute’s work for 30 hours per semester, focused primarily on exam proctoring for 24 hours and laboratory supervision or tutoring courses for 6 hours

Adjustment of scholarship requirements may be possible and will be informed during the scholarship agreement signing period

BENEFIT:

Full SIIT tuition and educational support fees (full thesis support),

excluding:

TU Matriculation Fee (600 baht)

TU Educational Support Fees (800 baht [Fees include services other than instruction] + 75

baht [Group Insurance Fee] per semester)

A living allowance of 10,000 baht per month

Round-trip economy travel expenses, the most direct route to and from Thailand

and the recipient’s home country (actual expense, maximum 20,000 baht/student)

Miscellaneous expenses such as visa fees, and a one-time English proficiency test for graduation,

etc. (actual expenses, but not over 10,000 baht/student)

Health and accident insurance during the period of scholarship in Thailand

Scholarship recipients are required to stay at the SIIT dormitory for a period of at least 12 months.

THE NORDIC AFRICA INSTITUTE MASTER’S/PHD SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

If you are a student or researcher engaged in Africa-focused studies at a University in Sweden, Finland, Denmark or Iceland, the Nordic Scholarship Programme gives you the opportunity to visit NAI for one month.

Through the Nordic Scholarship Programme, NAI aims to contribute to building capacity in the production of knowledge about Africa and to promote and establish relations with and between Nordic research communities.

ELIGIBILITY:

You must be a master student, PhD candidate or postdoctoral researcher in the social sciences or humanities.

You may apply regardless of citizenship, but you must be affiliated with a university or research center in Sweden, Finland, Denmark or Iceland.

You must be pursuing Africa-oriented studies/research.

The selection process

The aim of the scholarship programme is to offer a 1-month stay at the Nordic Africa Institute in order to facilitate use of the Institute’s library collections on contemporary Africa (books, periodicals, newspapers, and government publications) and to support connection to existing work at the Institute through NAI research hosts. The scholarships are awarded once per year.

BENEFIT:

The scholarship covers travel expenses, accommodation and a subsistence allowance.

You get access to a workspace in a shared office at the Institute for your one-month stay.
