AFRICAN LIBERTY WRITING FELLOWSHIP

African Liberty is thrilled to announce the application call for its 2025/2026 African Liberty Writing Fellowship. The fellowship program is open to any African student currently enrolled in or must have graduated from an African institution of higher learning or pursuing higher education outside the continent.

ELIGIBILITY:

An applicant has to be enrolled in, or must have graduated from, an African institution of higher learning. Or, be an African pursuing higher education outside the continent.

Application and admission fees are free

 5-week training runs from 26 May 2025 to 23 June 2025. The writing fellowship starts on 15 July 2025, and ends on 15 July 2026.

This is a paid fellowship. Compensation is contingent upon a monthly assessment. Please beware that they do not consider financial compensation until a fellow is inducted.

The Centre for Epidemic Response and Innovation (CERI) at Stellenbosch University (South Africa) and the Institut Pasteur de Dakar (IPD) (Senegal) invite applications for the African STARS Fellowship Programme, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. This prestigious initiative is designed to train the next generation of African leaders in genomics, diagnostics, vaccine development, and biotechnology innovation.

Advanced and Translational Training (ATT) Fellowship (4 months):

Young Professional Programme (YPP) Fellowship (12 months):

Born in and/or living in Africa

35 years old or younger

Relevant degree (Bachelor’s minimum; MSc/PhD preferred)

Experience in genomics, diagnostics, biotech, or vaccine development

Leadership potential & commitment to Africa’s scientific growth

Fluent in English or French (both is an advantage)
