ART ON CLIMATE INTERNATIONAL ILLUSTRATION CONTEST

The “Art on Climate” International Illustration Competition is a collaborative initiative organized by Fingertips Company Limited and sponsored by Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI). By inviting illustrators and video creators to explore the theme of climate change, they provide a global stage for innovative ideas and real-world solutions. Through this creative lens, they aim to inspire people to move beyond awareness and take meaningful action in their own lives.

ELIGIBILITY:

Any person aged 18 or above, from any location, is eligible to participate. Aged 18 or above on 17 May 2026

Participants are invited to submit original works on the theme of “climate change”. Participants should draw inspiration from one or more of the following topics as a starting point of their artworks from the programme website

Artwork Specifications:

Must be original works relevant to the theme of the competition and submitted by participants on an individual basis.

Each participant may submit up to three illustrations and three animated videos.

The submitted illustration(s) or animated video(s) must not have been previously published or used for any other purpose, and must not have been previously awarded or currently be participating in other competition selections.

Submissions must not include any signatures, words, symbols, pictures, or voiceovers (for animated videos) that identify the participants.

Each illustration or animated video must be accompanied by a short description (minimum 30 words, maximum 100 words).

Illustration Category:

The artwork(s) must be in a flat image and created in colour.

The artwork(s) can be created using any medium, including painting, computer software, and mixed media. However, artworks generated by artificial intelligence are not accepted. The use of photographs and clip art is prohibited.

Should be in A3 size (297mm x 420mm), in either horizontal or vertical format.

Must be uploaded in JPG format, with a resolution of no less than 300 dpi, and the total size of each entry should be no more than 10MB.

Animated Video Category

The animated video(s) must be between 10 and 15 seconds long.

The aspect ratio should be either 9:16 (vertical, minimum resolution of 1080X1920 pixels) or 1:1 (square, minimum resolution of 1080X1080 pixels).

Must be uploaded in MP4 or MOV format, with the total file size for each submitted animated video no more than 30MB.

Any production techniques or tools may be used, provided the work is original.

Background music is preferred and must not have any copyright issues.

Voiceovers are not allowed. Any text on the video, including but not limited to captions, subtitles, must be in English.

BENEFIT:

Illustration Category

Champion certificate and prize of €2,000

1st runner-up: e-certificate and prize of €1,500

2nd runner-up: e-certificate and prize of €1,000

Merit: e-certificate and prize of €150

Animated Video Category

Champion: e-certificate and prize of €2,000

1st runner-up: e-certificate and prize of €1,500

2nd runner-up: e-certificate and prize of €1,000

All winners will receive a customized award certificate by email.

The winning illustrations and animated videos will be put on display in a virtual exhibition.

23 winning illustrations will be selected based on the 100-point scale that judges used for rating. The three artworks that received the highest number of points will be ranked as Champion, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up accordingly, whereas the other 20 selected winning artworks will be ranked as Merit.

3 winning animated videos will be selected based on the 100-point scale that judges used for rating. The three artworks that received the highest number of points will be ranked as Champion, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up accordingly.

FREE PRESS AWARDS

Free Press Unlimited wants to honor journalists who risk everything to bring us the news, media pioneers who pave the way for equality and justice and those who persevere under the most difficult circumstances. The Free Press Awards will recognise exceptional work in the categories Newcomer of the Year and Most Resilient Journalist.

The nominations for the Free Press Awards of 2024 are open! You can now nominate a journalist for the Most Resilient Journalists Award or the Newcomer of the Year Award. The deadline for nominations is 12 August 2024. The nominees will be announced in September 2024.

ELIGIBILITY:

Nominations for the awards will be judged by an independent panel of international experts. Please note the following when nominating:

You can not nominate yourself;

When you nominate someone, make sure this person is aware and gives permission;

Make sure you have sufficient examples of work to upload with the nomination, preferably a minimum of three pieces;

To be eligible for the category of Newcomer of the Year, the nominee should be active as a journalist for a maximum of three years.

BENEFIT:

The winner in the category ‘Newcomer of the Year’ will receive a media scholarship by choice. The winner in the category ‘Most Resilient Journalist’ will receive a cash prize. Read more about the categories Newcomer of the Year and Most Resilient Journalist.
