CURTIN UNIVERSITY HDR SCHOLARSHIP, SCHOOL OF MOLECULAR AND LIFE SCIENCES PHD SCHOLARSHIP

Three PhD student scholarships are available in the School of Molecular and Life Sciences at Curtin University, Australia. The successful candidates will work with Associate Professor Guohua Jia on his Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellowship project (2D nanomaterial heterostructures for photocatalytic hydrogen production), ARC Discovery project (Inorganic/organic Hybrids for flexible thermoelectric generators) and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem – Zelman Cowen Academic Initiatives (ZCAI) Joint Project (Modern X-ray detectors based on 2D metal halide perovskites). These projects aim to develop inorganic nanocrystals with controlled size, shape, composition that are responsive to light, heat and x-ray towards energy harvesting and storage, thermoelectric and optoelectronic devices. This scholarship application is open until filled.

Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree (first-class honours or upper second-class honours) in Chemistry, Materials Engineering or related fields.

Applicants with either Master or Bachelor degrees with scientific publications and research experiences in chemistry, materials science, electronic devices or related fields are preferred.

The successful candidate will receive a stipend valued around $29,000 per annum.

The duration of the scholarship shall be for three years with a possible extension of up to six months, provided the student meets eligibility guidelines as per the conditions of the award.

The scholarship will cover tuition fees for the duration of the award.

WD2026 MEDIA SCHOLARSHIPS

LOCATION: Australia.

The Women Deliver 2026 Conference (WD2026) will take place 27–30 April 2026 in Narrm (Melbourne), Australia. WD2026 will focus on the leadership and lived experience of feminists, First Nations leaders, and advocates from across the Oceanic Pacific and the world. 

Women Deliver is offering Media Scholarships for journalists and content creators worldwide, especially those who may not otherwise be able to attend and report.

ELIGIBILITY:

Media Scholarships are open to working media globally, including:

Reporters, editors, producers, presenters/anchors

Photojournalists, videographers, and broadcast teams

Podcast/radio journalists and newsroom social/visual teams

Freelancers with a commissioning/assignment letter

Content creators who produce independent, factual coverage on social issues

Priority will be given to:

Media and content creators with a demonstrated focus on gender equality, health, human rights, climate justice, development, or Oceanic Pacific issues

First Nations and Indigenous journalists and creators

LGBTQIA+ people, persons with disabilities, internally displaced persons and refugees, and those from under-resourced communities

Early-career journalists/creators and applicants who have not previously received a ‘Women Deliver Conference Scholarship’

Applications are reviewed by the WD2026 team in consultation with regional partners. Approved applications are based on evidence of professional journalism and recent relevant coverage and alignment of your outlet/audience with WD2026 themes. All successful applicants will be notified by email by November 2025.
