CORENET GLOBAL ACADEMIC CHALLENGE

CoreNet global invite students from around the world to think creatively about a problem facing real estate professionals for renowned companies like Google, Duke Energy, AstraZeneca, Whirlpool, and many others.

ELIGIBILITY:

Student teams from universities and academic institutions in Africa, Europe, and the Americas are invited to compete in an academic challenge wherein students are asked to play the role of an internal corporate real estate team to address a real-world issue facing companies around the globe

The competition is open to all students (undergraduate/graduate, full-time/part-time) who are currently registered at a recognized university. All past Academic Challenge presentations are viewable via the Source.

There is no registration fee.

In consultation with colleagues in IT and Legal, develop an enterprise-level strategy for the corporate real estate portfolio that takes maximum advantage of emerging AI technologies while minimizing associated risks.

What should corporate real estate expect from artificial intelligence? No one wants to be left behind because they didn’t embrace technology – but as organizations feel pressure, they will be forced to forge a new direction. To channel that energy the right way though, the most effective corporate real estate teams must have a clear purpose – and while the methods that we use to create that new direction will be highly tech-augmented, the purpose of why we’re doing it must remain deeply rooted in our humanity.

MASTERCARD/CIFAR WOMEN IN RESEARCH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SYMPOSIUM

The CIFAR Women in Research Leadership Development Symposium convenes exceptional early career researchers from across sub-Saharan Africa, in any academic discipline, to strengthen their leadership skills through facilitated training; expand their professional networks; build their capacity for leading-edge, interdisciplinary research and collaboration; and receive mentorship from amongst Africa’s top women research leaders.

ELIGIBILITY:

Interested applicants must hold a primarily research-focused position (typically as a senior graduate student, postdoctoral fellow or early career faculty member) at an academic or research institution in sub-Saharan Africa,

be 35 years of age or younger as of January 27, 2025.

All academic disciplines and areas of research are welcome.

Applicants of any gender may apply; at least 70% of selected participants will be women.

Applicants are required to submit a CV and articulate how attending this symposium would advance their career goals and vision for impact.

Travel and accommodation for all successful applicants will be paid for by CIFAR.
