Be citizens or refugees of a Sub-Saharan African country.

Have lived a significant part of their life in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Be 35 years old or younger at the time of application.

Have completed a bachelor’s degree (and not already hold a graduate/PhD degree).

Demonstrate academic excellence under challenging circumstances.

Show proven leadership potential and commitment to community service.

Be economically disadvantaged and require financial assistance.

Be eligible for a Canadian study permit.

Commit to returning to Africa after graduation.
