The Allard Prize Committee assumes the role of adjudicator for the Allard Photography Competition, an esteemed contest that celebrates photographic excellence aligned with the core values of the Allard Prize.
ELIGIBILITY:
Photographers are encouraged to submit their entries throughout the year. The submissions should encompass themes that resonate with courage and leadership in the battle against corruption, with a primary focus on advancing transparency, accountability, the rule of law, and human rights, while also addressing corruption and human rights violations in developed nations.
BENEFIT:
Each distinguished winning photograph will be honored with a prize of CAD $1,000 and will be prominently showcased on the Allard Prize website. Accompanied by a concise description and the photographer’s name, the photograph will grace the website for a duration of six months.
Each year, more than $2 million dollars in university graduate fellowships are offered to full-time master’s and PhD students to recognize and support academic excellence. The fellowships are offered to students who have demonstrated superior intellectual ability and academic accomplishment.
ELIGIBILITY:
Students must have a minimum admission GPA of 3.0 to be considered for this award. Please contact your department as they may have a higher GPA requirement.
To hold an award: Have been admitted to a graduate program at the University of Manitoba as a Master’s or Ph.D. student. Pre-master’s and Occasional students are not eligible.
Not have an active, admission‐related hold on their student account during their provisional admission period.
Be registered full‐time in a graduate program of study in the unit that recommends them for a UMGF, if they hold a UMGF award.
Departments/units determine the value and duration of an award and must meet the eligibility criteria as outlined in the eligibility table.
