PHOTOGRAPHY 4 HUMANITY GLOBAL PRIZE COMPETITION

SEEKING THE BEST CLIMATE JUSTICE PHOTOGRAPHY

The 2024 Global Contest promotes climate justice. We believe climate change is a human rights issue, so we are looking for images that show people impacted by the escalating climate crisis. They include climate refuges, the very young, the very old, the disabled and injured, the poor, indigenous and island people, and women. Images of climate champions advocating for change, and those helping to mitigate and reverse climate change are welcome. The 2024 Photography 4 Humanity Global Prize Competition is now open.

ELIGIBILITY:

You must be at least 18 years of age or older to enter. Entry is free.

All entries must be submitted between Feb 1, 2024 12:00PM EST and August 1, 2024 12:00PM PST

All photography must relate to people being impacted by climate change, and/or people trying to reverse and/or mitigate climate change

Must include photographer name, title, date, location and description of each photograph submitted

All images must have been taken within between August 1, 2023 and August 1, 2024

BENEFIT:

The 2024 Global Prize Recipient will receive $5,000 USD

The Global Prize Recipient, top 10 Finalists and 20 Honorable Mentions will be exhibited globally on December 10, 2024 – via UN.org.

The Global Prize Recipient, top 10 Finalists, and  20 Honorable mentions will then have their work help open the 2025 Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit hosted by  the University of Oxford on June 5, 2025 – UN World Environment Day.

LEAD2030 CHALLENGE FOR SDG 3 SUPPORTED BY ASTRAZENECA

LOCATION: Canada

Through the Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 3, they will be granting US $50,000 to a small, innovative, youth-led non-profit organisation which aims to solve the climate and health challenges facing young people today.

 They invite a wide range of ideas, which could range from developing youth climate advocacy capability and health awareness, promoting carbon-friendly solutions to address health equity issues, support climate-health entrepreneurship, targeting food waste and enabling healthy diets, and beyond.

ELIGIBILITY:

Nationals of all eligible countries may apply for this scholarship.

A young leader (aged 18-30) working for, or leading, a non-profit organisation with drive and determination to make the world a healthier place for people.*

Applicants must demonstrate a positive impact related to leading climate/health equity projects benefitting youth (aged 10-24).

Access to the internet and a device (computer, phone) that will allow them to participate in live, online Fellowship sessions – this will not be provided to Fellows.

Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing) 

Ability to fully participate in-person, at the One Young World Summit (18 – 21 September 2024) in Montreal, Canada. 

Ability to commit to a one-year Fellowship program and attend at least 75% of modules/activities. 

Ability to lead and manage the implementation and reporting of the non-profit project funded through the Fellowship. 

Applicants must be founders or leaders of registered non-profit organisations that meet the following criteria:

Have been registered and operational for at least three full years. 

Have had a total reported income in the last financial year of more than USD$100,000 and less than USD$2,000,000.

Scholarship to participate in the One Young World Summit 2024

A US$50,000 grant from AstraZenea. 

12 months of mentorship from a team of AstraZeneca professionals and partners. The mentorship team will work to accelerate your solution based on the needs of your initiative or organisation, such as:
