IMC GO-TO-TALENT CHALLENGE

The Innovation Makers Challenge (IMC) is an initiative of the Technology and Telecommunication Working Group (TTSWG) aimed at empowering young innovators in the technology and telecommunication industry in Nigeria.

ELIGIBILITY:

You are between the ages of 18 and 35 on or before the application deadline.

Have innovative solutions in the following categories; Assistive Tech, EnergyTech, AgroTech, Waste Management/Climate Innovation, EdTech (including Gaming apps/innovation), Fintech.

Can commit to attending the Innovation Conference and Exhibition in Lagos, Nigeria on the 9th of November 2023.

Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Innovations must be made by an individual or a team of not more than five (5) individuals.

Innovations must be original and unique.

UBA NATIONAL ESSAY COMPETITION

Application Deadline: Friday, October 20th, 2023

LOCATION: Nigeria


The National Essay Competition, targeted at senior secondary students in Nigeria, is organised annually, as part of UBA Foundation’s education initiative which aims to promote the reading culture and encourage healthy and intellectual competition amongst secondary school students in Nigeria and across Africa

ELIGIBILITY:

Essay Topic: Will Artificial Intelligence (AI) take over Human Intelligence? What should students do to ensure AI doesn’t override but enhance their ability to learn through research?

Must be a Nigerian Senior Secondary school student

Must submit a passport photograph

Must submit a scanned copy of a means of identification (birth certificate, National ID, or passport)

Applicants must upload a handwritten essay (not more than 750 words) on the portal.

BENEFIT:

The first prize for the UBA National Essay Competition is a N5 million educational grant to any African University of their choice, while the second and third prizes are N3 million and N2.5 million in educational grants to African Universities, respectively.
