PURORRELATO MICRO-STORY CONTEST

LOCATION: Spain

Casa África launches the 11th edition of Purorrelato, its micro-story contest that aims to promote literary creation that encourages us to feel and think about Africa and to continue showing different realities that approach us to the continent, away from the stereotypes that have marked it for so long.

The theme is free, although the micro-stories should be related to Africa in some way

ELIGIBILITY:

The story could take place inside or outside the continent and its degree of relation with Africa could range from a detail to the total protagonism of the story. Entry is FREE.

In addition, the micro-stories must be original, unpublished and must not have won a prize or be pending a decision in other contests or competitions. Participants must guarantee that there are no third-party rights over the micro-stories submitted and will be responsible for any claims that may be made in this respect.

The micro-stories could be submitted in Spanish, English, French or Portugueses, with a maximum length of 1500 characters (not words) including spaces and excluding the title.

The stories received will be assessed by a jury composed of African and/or Spanish renowned experts in African literature. The deadline for submission is 16th April 2025 at 14.00 hours (GMT +0).

In addition to the financial awards, Casa África may grant runners-up prizes or special mentions to authors whose texts are ranked between fourth and sixth placecompetition

XXIV VIDEOMINUTE INTERNATIONAL CONTEST 2025

Application Deadline: April 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Spain.

LOCATION: Spain

The Area of ​​Culture of the Dpt. of Culture and Social Affairs of Universidad de Zaragoza, with the collaboration of Cinemaremagnum Servicios Audiovisuales, wants to announce the regulations for the XXIV Videominute International Contest to stimulate creation in the domain of video-creation and animation, according to these regulations.

ELIGIBILITY:

Entry is FREE

All those people who wish to do so, either individually or in groups, may submit to the contest, provided they submit works whose maximum duration is 1 minute (60 seconds), including credit titles.

Works that exceed that time will not be accepted.

Works presented in other editions of the contest will not be accepted.

A maximum of 3 video minutes may be submitted per participant or group.

The subject of videominuto will be of free choice and works of both fiction / documentary and animation may be presented.

Trailers, teasers and advertising spots won’t be admitted in any case, just as excerpts from works whose primary length is more than 60 seconds. Every work not specifically created to last 60 seconds maximum won’t be accepted.

IMPORTANT: All those works presented in a language different from Spanish, must be subtitled in Spanish or in English.

The participant will be responsible in any case for any claim related to the violation of the rights of image, data protection, honor and privacy of third parties

The organization reserves the right to exclude those proposals that may be considered offensive, insulting, or that violate the law.

BENEFIT:

The winners will be awarded with a diploma and with the following prizes:

Prize for the best INTERNATIONAL VIDEOMINUTE 2025 : €500

Prize for the best SPANISH VIDEOMINUTE 2025 : €500

Prize for  the best ARAGONESE VIDEOMINUTE  2025: € 500

In addition, there will be a SPECIAL MENTION FROM THE AREA OF EQUALITY , with an amount of € 300 . This mention will be awarded to the short film that, through its narrative, direction and message, addresses in an outstanding way the principles of gender equality.
