AALTO UNIVERSITY EXCELLENCE MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIP

Application runs from 1 December 2025 to 2 January 2026.

Aalto University offers a very limited number of scholarships to fee-paying students. The scholarships can be awarded to the best applicants admitted to the programmes. Applicants are ranked according to the evaluation criteria that are on the study options’ webpages. 
The master’s admissions application period for studies beginning in the autumn of 2026 runs from 1 December 2025 to 2 January 2026.

ELIGIBILITY:

If you are from outside the EU/EEA countries or Switzerland and you are liable to pay tuition fees, you can apply for the Aalto University Excellence Scholarship on your master’s programme application form during the application period. To apply for a scholarship, you simply need to answer “yes” to the application form question “do you apply for scholarship”. You cannot apply for a scholarship before or after the application period.

Only students who are liable to pay tuition fees are eligible to apply for Aalto University Excellence Scholarship, i.e. a tuition fee waiver.

The scholarship decisions and the admission decisions are given together. According to the Universities Act, scholarship decisions cannot be appealed.

The application consists of:
an application form,
a set of obligatory application documents; and
the documents required by your study option.

Fill in the online application form in the Studyinfo.fi service during the application period. You can edit your application form within the application period. The application period ends on 2 January 2026 (15.00/3pm, UTC +2).

Applicants who are not citizens of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) member states, or Switzerland must pay a €100 application fee to apply for higher education in Finland. 

BENEFIT:

Aalto University Excellence Scholarships are granted in the form of a tuition fee waiver.

SWINBURNE TUITION FEE DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (PHD), DOCTOR OF PSYCHOLOGY, MASTER BY RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP

LOCATION: Australia

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) tuition fee is a scholarship for prospective international research students.

ELIGIBILITY:

Tuition Fee Scholarships are considered on a case-by-case basis. International students seeking a Tuition Fee Scholarship must seek support from their Principal Supervisor.

If supported, the Principal Supervisor is required to complete an Application for Tuition Fee Scholarship justifying their grounds for support, which will then be subject to the approval of the School and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research).

Please note that additional requirements may be requested at the discretion of the School.

The scholarship applies to tuition fees only.

The scholarship is personal to the recipient and cannot be transferred to another person.

The scholarship has no cash value and is not refundable.

Swinburne reserves the right to cancel the scholarship at any time in the event that you fail to comply with any applicable standards of conduct, statutes, regulations, policies and procedures of the University, including any finding of academic or general misconduct.

All conditions of the offer must be met.

You must commence your studies in the scholarship commencement period for which you are applying.

You are not able to defer your studies to another year. If a deferral is required, you must apply again the following year if you are unable to take up your scholarship.

If you do not complete your research degree within four years full-time equivalent, you will be liable for any tuition fees incurred after the expiry of the scholarship.

The allocation of this scholarship is subject to review on a semester-by-semester basis by the Swinburne Higher Degrees Research Committee. You will be notified of any changes to your award in advance.

BENEFIT:

Covers the cost of research tuition fees up to a maximum of four years full-time equivalent for doctoral students and two years for research masters.
