JAMES DYSON AWARD FOR INTERNATIONAL ENGINEERING DESIGN

James Dyson is on the hunt for bright minds with fresh ideas across the globe. If you have an invention that solves a problem, they want to hear about it. The James Dyson Award is an international design award that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of design engineers. It’s open to current and recent design engineering students, and is run by the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson’s charitable trust, as part of its mission to get young people excited about design engineering.

ELIGIBILITY:

The James Dyson Award is open to current university students of engineering, product design and industrial design – and those who have graduated in these subjects in the last four years. We’ll ask to see official documentation that proves it.

All entrants must have undertaken their studies in one of the following countries or regions:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.

DAAD/SLGA POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) as commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to organize support measures for the “Network of Excellence for Land Governance in Africa (NELGA)”.
NELGA is a partnership of African universities and research institutions with proven leadership in education, training and research on land governance. Currently, NELGA has more than 70 partner institutions across Africa. For an overview of partner universities and institutions c

ELIGIBILITY:

have completed their PhD degree at a state or state recognized institution of higher education;

have a background in land governance/ land management or a related field (e.g. land administration, land economics, urban and regional planning, geomatics);

be nationals of an African country;

be granted leave of absence by their home institution in case of conducting a field study or research stay abroad.

Special consideration will be given to proposals that address the cross-cutting issues outlined in the factsheet accompanying this call.

BENEFIT:

The basic fellowship consists of:
a monthly rate of EUR 800;
a virtual training workshop on Advocacy for Research Output
In Addition, support for the following may be granted upon request (subject to availability of funds):
Reimbursement of expenses for scientific publications in
relevant journals up to a maximum of EUR 1500.
