CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: EDUCATIONUSA NIGERIA OPPORTUNITY FUND PROGRAM (OFP) 2026

The Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Mission in Nigeria, through EducationUSA Nigeria, invites qualified candidates to apply for the EducationUSA Nigeria Opportunity Fund Program (OFP) 2026 cohort. This initiative supports access to U.S. higher education while advancing American leadership, commercial diplomacy, and the shared economic interests of the United States and Nigeria, in alignment with the Freedom 250 celebration.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for the program:

Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and strong leadership potential.

Applicants must show clear intent to pursue post-secondary studies in the United States.

Applicants must demonstrate a record of notable achievements and proven research capability.

Applicants must exhibit a clear understanding of and commitment to visa integrity, regulatory compliance, and responsible participation in U.S. exchange programs. 

Program Focus / Preferred Fields of Study: Priority consideration will be given to the highest-performing students whose academic profiles and career trajectories align with U.S. strategic interests in STEM, AI, and critical emerging technologies. 

Program Expectations: Participants are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, compliance, and accountability, including adherence to all U.S. visa regulations.  The program supports pathways that contribute to a secure, resilient, and economically competitive United States, while strengthening long-term bilateral collaboration.

BENEFIT:

OFP provides targeted investment to cover essential upfront costs associated with applying to U.S. institutions, which may include standardized testing fees, application fees, and other related expenses.

JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF ADVANCED INTERNATIONAL STUDIES PUBLIC SERVICE SCHOLARS—SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

LOCATION: USA

The Johns Hopkins SAIS Public Service Scholars – Scholarship Program is for experienced mid-career professionals pursuing the Master of International Public Policy (MIPP) who have worked in public service, (broadly defined), and intend to return to public service after earning their degree. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Citizens of all countries are eligible to apply

Candidates must be admitted to the Master of International Public Policy (MIPP) program on the Washington DC campus in the fall semester; both full and part-time students (taking at least two courses per semester) are eligible to apply

Proven leadership, academic aptitude, and dedication to public service through demonstrated professional experience

Special consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need

Scholarship awards cannot be deferred

Must begin the Master of International Public Policy (MIPP) program in the fall semester

May pursue the program full or part time (part-time must take at least two classes per semester)

Must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 or higher

Must participate in at least one admissions recruitment activity per semester (such as meeting with prospective applicants or serving on a student panel) or serve as a mentor to a Public Service Fellow

Must complete and submit brief program surveys once per semester and a final comprehensive survey in the last semester

Must complete and submit Global Careers’ Employment Outcomes Survey prior to graduating

The Johns Hopkins SAIS Public Service Scholars – Scholarship Program is only open to Fall applicants.

Up to a 50% tuition scholarship (scholarship awards cannot be deferred or transferred to another campus, nor can they be used for academic exchange programs)
