PHOTOGRAPHY 4 HUMANITY GLOBAL PRIZE COMPETITION

SEEKING THE BEST CLIMATE JUSTICE PHOTOGRAPHY

The 2024 Global Contest promotes climate justice. We believe climate change is a human rights issue, so we are looking for images that show people impacted by the escalating climate crisis. They include climate refuges, the very young, the very old, the disabled and injured, the poor, indigenous and island people, and women. Images of climate champions advocating for change, and those helping to mitigate and reverse climate change are welcome. The 2024 Photography 4 Humanity Global Prize Competition is now open.

ELIGIBILITY:

You must be at least 18 years of age or older to enter. Entry is free.

All entries must be submitted between Feb 1, 2024 12:00PM EST and August 1, 2024 12:00PM PST

All photography must relate to people being impacted by climate change, and/or people trying to reverse and/or mitigate climate change

Must include photographer name, title, date, location and description of each photograph submitted

All images must have been taken within between August 1, 2023 and August 1, 2024

BENEFIT:

The 2024 Global Prize Recipient will receive $5,000 USD

The Global Prize Recipient, top 10 Finalists and 20 Honorable Mentions will be exhibited globally on December 10, 2024 – via UN.org.

The Global Prize Recipient, top 10 Finalists, and  20 Honorable mentions will then have their work help open the 2025 Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit hosted by  the University of Oxford on June 5, 2025 – UN World Environment Day.

GLOBAL CITIZEN PRIZE: CISCO YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD

Application Deadline: December 15th 5pm PT

LOCATION: United Nations

The Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award was established by Cisco and Global Citizen to recognize and lift up a young person positively impacting the world, demonstrate the impact that young people are having on achieving the United Nation’s Global Goals, and accelerate global problem solving.

ELIGIBILITY:

Open to individuals aged 18 to 30 years

Impact: Demonstrated track-record of measurable impact at scale over the last 3-5 years advancing one or more of the Global Goals. 

Vision: Compelling vision and concrete plans for how to extend this work in the next 3-5 years, including how the prize will advance efforts. 

Catalyst: Inspires other young people to have an impact on achieving one or more of the Global Goals.

Global Citizenship: Demonstrates the values and embodies the spirit of a Global Citizen and a Global Problem Solver.

Technology Innovation: Innovates with technology or Internet-based communications to improve efficiency, reach, and magnify impact. 

Applications from all over the world are accepted, with the exception of countries and entities subject to financial or other sanctions by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) or other government entities of the United States of America that may restrict the transfer of the Prize money.

BENEFIT:

The award includes a US$250,000 prize paid to the organization to which the individual contributes.
