SDG INNOVATION SUMMIT MALAYSIA 2026 (SISM)

The SDG Innovation Summit Malaysia 2026 is a premier international youth summit designed to bring together 100 young leaders, innovators, students, entrepreneurs, professionals, researchers, and changemakers from around the world to explore innovative ideas, foster meaningful collaboration, and create sustainable impact in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

ELIGIBILITY:

Open to all Nationals.

All educational and professional fields.

17-50 years old.

IELTS/TOEFL not required.

Students, volunteers, graduates, change-makers, social entrepreneurs, and professionals at any stage of their careers.

Must be available to attend the summit in Kuala Lumpur from 19-22 Nov 2026

Scholarship Criteria

A strong personal statement of 250–300 words explaining why you are interested in joining the SDG Innovation Summit 2026.

Applicants should possess leadership skills, a passion for the SDGs, and a visionary mindset.

Volunteering or leadership experience preferred but not mandatory.

Applicants from all backgrounds and fields are welcome to apply.

BENEFIT:

There are 30 scholarships available. The top 15 applicants will receive fully funded slots, while the next 15 will be awarded partially funded slots.

You can submit a single application for both scholarship categories.

$1,000 SEED GRANT OPPORTUNITY: As part of the SDG Innovation Summit Malaysia 2026, participants will compete for a $1,000 seed grant to support innovative projects and social impact initiatives.

THE 2026 GCSP PRIZE FOR INNOVATION IN GLOBAL SECURITY

As part of the GCSP’s Creativity and Innovation Initiative, the GCSP Prize for Innovation in Global Security recognizes groundbreaking contributions that address the world’s most pressing security challenges.

Organized by GCSP’s Geopolitics and Global Futures Department, this prestigious annual award celebrates individuals and organizations that are advancing bold, creative, and impactful solutions in the field of global security.

ELIGIBILITY:

Open to all disciplines and sectors, the prize highlights the most inspiring and original achievements of the year—whether through new initiatives, technological innovations, research publications, or institutional accomplishments.

The prize is awarded for projects by any individual, group of individuals, or organization (from private or public sectors) that contribute to global security and have been submitted for consideration according to these rules and regulations.

Submissions may come from any country, but the projects should go beyond national borders in their reach or thinking and seek to address global security in innovative ways or through new ideas. A broad range of projects could qualify for consideration, including, but not limited to, technological and conceptual innovations, original research, or grassroots initiatives.

The prize is intended to encourage and recognize excellence in contributing to new approaches to enhancing sustainable global security.

2026 Rules and Regulations

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, 23 September 2026, at 23:59 UTC+2. The winners will be announced in Fall 2026.

BENEFIT:

The first-place laureate receives a CHF 10,000 cash prize and a certificate of excellence in recognition of their outstanding contribution to global peace and security. 

Second- and third-place recipients will be honoured with certificates of recognition, while two additional projects will receive honourable mentions.
