Applications are open for the second cycle of The Young Climate Prize award and mentorship program! The prize was conceived by New York-based nonprofit organization The World Around to support the generation of designers and activists who were born into the climate crisis and uniquely positioned to address it.
ELIGIBILITY:
Nominations and applications for the 2025 cycle are free to all.
Anyone aged 13-25 can submit their work. We encourage young people from anywhere in the world to share their projects. If English is not your first language you will be able to indicate this during the application process.
There is no academic requirement and no need to have a formal design education.
BENEFIT:
25 finalists will win a life-changing mentorship, and three winners will be flown to New York City to share their work and ideas at The World Around’s prestigious Annual Summit in 2025.
The eleventh annual Yale Environment 360 Film Contest is now accepting entries.
ELIGIBILITY:
The contest honors the year’s best environmental films from around the world, highlighting work that has not previously been widely seen. Submissions should focus on an environmental issue and be a maximum of 20 minutes in length. The contest judges will be Yale Environment 360 executive editor Roger Cohn, Pulitzer Prize winner and e360 contributing writer Elizabeth Kolbert, and Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Thomas Lennon.
Films can be uploaded through Film Freeway. Send any questions to e360@yale.edu. The deadline for entries is Monday, May 20, 2024.
BENEFIT:
The first-place winner will receive $3,000, the second-place winner $2,000, and the third-place winner $1,000. The winning entries will be posted on Yale Environment 360.
