WEGE PRIZE 2025

Wege Prize, organized by Kendall College of Art and Design’s Wege Center for Sustainable Design with support from the Wege Foundation, is an annual competition that ignites game-changing solutions for the future by inspiring college/university students around the world to collaborate across institutional, disciplinary, and cultural boundaries to redesign the way economies work.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible to participate in wege prize, teams must:

Have exactly five members

Represent at least three (3) different academic disciplines*

Represent at leasttwo(2) different institutions of higher education, such as colleges, universities, or separate colleges/schools within a larger university. (for instance, a team member from example university’s school of engineering and a team member from example university’s school of earth sciences would be considered as representing two different institutions.)*

*these are the minimum requirements. Teams with the greatest disciplinary and institutional diversity will likely have a higher probability of success.

To be eligible to join a team, individuals must:

Attend a college, university, or equivalent institution of higher education anywhere in the world

Be a student enrolled in a full-time (or equivalent) undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate program, for the duration of the competition*

Teams can be composed of a mix of undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students if they so choose. 

*if you are graduating before may of the competition year, you must still be a student until at least the phase 2 deadline. READ THE FULL DESIGN BRIEF

BENEFIT:

Participants contend for $65,000 (USD) in total cash prizes, all while helping to show the world what the future of problem solving looks like.

THE EMERALD PUBLISHING AFRICA AND MIDDLE EAST EMERALD CASE WRITING COMPETITION

LOCATION: Multiple Regions

Emerald Publishing invites authors based at African or Middle Eastern higher education institutions, including Türkiye and Pakistan, to submit business teaching cases focused on emerging markets in their region

The aim of the competition is to encourage and promote the development of high-quality teaching case material relevant to the realities of dynamic and emerging economies in Africa, the Middle East, Türkiye, and Pakistan. At the same time, they also seek to promote the development of case-writing capabilities with those same regions.

ELIGIBILITY:

Have a developing and emerging markets focus from Africa, the Middle East, Türkiye, or Pakistan.

Be written by authors based at higher education institutions in these same countries.

Be based on a real situation in a real company.

Be a teaching case, we cannot accept academic (research) cases.

Not have been published before in its current or substantially similar form or be under consideration for publication in any ISSN/ ISBN-registered publication or with any other case centre.

Meet the standard EMCS author guidelines (more below).

Include a completed and signed consent to publish release form.

Your case will be automatically entered into the peer-review process. Selected cases will be published in the Scopus-ranked EMCS collection (ISSN 2045 0621). By participating in the competition, you are agreeing to publish your case study in EMCS, subject to acceptance for publication after peer review and revisions (if required).

BENEFIT:

The total prize pool is worth $2,000, including $1,000 for the winner and $500 each for the two runners up and and have their case study published globally!

Please note that the prize will only be payable to the winning submissions if those submissions are successfully published.
