CALA ADVANCED LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME

Application Deadline: July 2, 2024

LOCATION: Germany

Join 160 leaders from across the continent (80 per cohort) in CALA’s Advanced Leadership Programme for individuals engaged in delivery and implementation of national agriculture priorities.

ELIGIBILITY:

Leaders implementing country-level agriculture efforts:

Established or emerging leaders working in government, private firms and associations, or civil society organizations who are responsible for driving agriculture flagships and priority programs.

Must be actively employed or working in government (public sector), private sector and civil society (associations or civil society organizations)

Cohorts will be formed from participants from the following countries: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda.

Special consideration will be given to:

Women leaders

Youth leaders

Individuals working to advance agro-ecological practices.

Please note, CALA does not provide for per diems for in-person leadership forums and graduation events attendance.

BENEFIT:

Participants’ fees are fully sponsored through support provided to AGRA by the German Development Cooperation through KfW Development Bank. This will include travel costs for all Leadership Forums and graduation events. Participants are expected to meet their own costs of internet access for virtual leadership forums.

GLOBETHICS YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD

LOCATION: Switzerland

Globethics’ vision is to promote ethical leadership for a just, inclusive and sustainable world. The first Globethics Youth Leadership Award is launched in our 20th Anniversary year to further that vision in the next 20 years by recognising, honouring and empowering young leaders from around the world striving for positive, ethical change in their community, institution, society, nation, region or even globally.

ELIGIBILITY:

The jury are looking for applications from young leaders (individuals or groups) aged between 18 and 30 years of age who have a values-based approach and are invested in serving the common good through initiatives that they are already involved in leading and would like to develop and grow further. The initiatives have to be impactful, change-making related to one or more of the four Globethics priorities.

In addition, winners of the Award will be selected by the jury based on criteria including,

Contribution to achieving one or more of the Globethics priorities

Proven change made as a result of their initiative

Innovation in problem-solving

Inclusive approach

Scalability and replicability

BENEFIT:

Award winners will achieve recognition for their pioneering work and receive financial and mentoring support to upscale and to multiply the results of their project.

1st prize: USD 15,000

2nd prize: USD 10,000

3rd prize: USD 5,000

All winners will also benefit from the support of a mentor for nine months.
