TWAS-SISSA-LINCEI RESEARCH COOPERATION VISITS PROGRAMME

LOCATION: Italy

Young scientists from least developed countries who hold an MSc (or higher degree) can visit research laboratories in the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region of Italy for three months to carry out collaborative research projects and/or training internships in the fields that fall under the umbrella of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must be a maximum age of 40 years on 31 December of the application year

Applicants must hold an MSc (or higher degree)

Applicants must be nationals of a least developed country. (See list at: https://www.un.org/development/desa/dpad/least-developed-country-category/ldcs-…)

Applicants must hold a research position in a least developed country

Particular attention will be given to research projects that fall under the umbrella of sustainability science

Women scientists are encouraged to apply

Applicants already on-site in the host country are not eligible

Only applications in the scientific fields specified below and listed in the application form will be considered.

BENEFIT:

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, through UNESCO-TWAS, will cover travel expenses and provide subsistence costs for the stay in Italy. The administration and financial operation of TWAS is undertaken by UNESCO in accordance with an agreement signed by the two organizations.

ACU VICE CHANCELLOR’S PHD EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

The Vice Chancellor’s PhD Excellence Scholarships support commencing international PhD candidates—either Doctor of Philosophy or Doctor of Ministry—who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement in prior studies.

Explore research in the Faculty of Health Sciences

Recipients of this award will need to meet the requirements of enrollment and progress as outlined in the Higher Degree Research Policy and ACU’s Research Training Program Scholarship Policy. This scholarship is open to applicants who will meet all the following criteria:

Citizenship: all students considered international for fee purposes

Faculties: Education and Arts, Law and Business, Health Science, Theology and Philosophy

Course: Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Philosophy

Recipients are not eligible to receive this scholarship in conjunction with any other ACU scholarship or award.

Eligible candidates must propose a research project that aligns with the University’s strategic research priorities and/or its established or emerging areas of research strength.

A limited number of scholarships are awarded each year to outstanding applicants, with recipients receiving a comprehensive scholarship package to support them in their studies.

BENEFIT:

Successful applicants will be awarded a scholarship package consisting of:

Stipend valued at AUD $33,511 per annum (full-time) to support living expenses, paid as a fortnight stipend for up to 3.5 years

Tuition fee scholarship for up to 3.5 years

RTP Allowance (Overseas Student Health Care Policy) Scholarship to cover the cost of one single Overseas Student Health Care Policy; and

RTP Allowance (Relocation) valued up to AUD $2,000 to support the costs of an overseas candidate’s relocation to Australia for the purposes of commencing a Research Doctorate degree at ACU.
