YAM AWARDS 2024: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The YAMawards have recognised excellence in the field of live musical productions for young audiences. Now in the 15th edition of the competition, JM International (the world’s largest youth music network) is once again in search of creativity and innovation in the field of live music production for young audiences.

ELIGIBILITY:

The YAMawards 2024 are officially open and accepting applications in 5 marvellous categories: Best Small Ensemble. Best Large Ensemble, Best Opera, Best School Concert and Best Participatory Project. Soloists, groups, ensembles, operas and orchestras producing live music for audiences under 18 years of age are encouraged to apply for this international honour.

Entries are judged by a professional international jury who base their decision on the quality of music, the quality of performance, the relevance/necessity of the program, audience communication and its international potential.

Best Small Ensemble – for Young Audiences (€1000)

Best Large Ensemble – for Young Audiences (€1000) (Groups of 8+ / Orchestras / Etc)

Best Opera – for Young Audiences (€1000) Powered by RESEO (The European Network for Opera, Music & Dance Education)

Ebbe Høyrup’s Best School Concert – for Young Audiences (€1000)

Best Participatory Project – with Young Audiences (€1000) (Projects where the participation of young audiences / the process is the main focus)

Public Choice Award (€1000) (Selected from the nominees in each category, decided by online public vote.)

UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP (UMGF)

LOCATION: Canada

Each year, more than $2 million dollars in university graduate fellowships are offered to full-time master’s and PhD students to recognize and support academic excellence. The fellowships are offered to students who have demonstrated superior intellectual ability and academic accomplishment.

ELIGIBILITY:

Students must have a minimum admission GPA of 3.0 to be considered for this award. Please contact your department as they may have a higher GPA requirement.

Have been admitted to a graduate program at the University of Manitoba as a Master’s or Ph.D. student. Pre-master’s and Occasional students are not eligible.

Not have an active, admission‐related hold on their student account during their provisional admission period.

Be registered full‐time in a graduate program of study in the unit that recommends them for a UMGF, if they hold a UMGF award.

Please consult your department or unit for the UMGF application process and deadline. Once the department/unit determines their selection, students are recommended to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. FGS will notify the award recipients with an official letter via email.

Students must be recommended by their department or unit to the Faculty of Graduate Studies for a UMGF

BENEFIT:

UMGF master’s awards are valued at $14,000 per year for 12 or 24 months, for up to a total of $28,000.

UMGF doctoral awards are valued at $18,000 per year for 12, 24, 36 or 48 months, for up to a total of $72,000.
