OPEN CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR PULITZER CENTER’S AI ACCOUNTABILITY FELLOWSHIPS

LOCATION: Multiple Regions

They seek to support journalists and newsrooms that represent the diversity of the communities impacted by AI technologies. The Fellowship is designed for reporters from all beats, desks, and formats who want to broaden, deepen, and diversify reporting on artificial intelligence with an accountability lens.

ELIGIBILITY:

Staff or freelance journalists working on a wide range of platforms, including print, radio, video, and multimedia.

Team players with the experience and/or ability to work collaboratively across newsrooms and borders.

Reporters with a deep interest in how AI impacts the world, and why this issue matters to our global well-being.

Reporters willing to participate in outreach activities related to their investigations, such as events at schools and universities.

Reporters can be based anywhere.

BENEFIT:

The Fellows are eligible to receive up to $20,000 divided in three payments. Please include a detailed budget explaining your reporting expenses. You may include a stipend to pay for your time if you are a freelancer.

THE EXPATRIO SCHOLARSHIP IN GERMANY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

ELIGIBILITY:

The Scholarship is open to students from all over the world who meet the following criteria:

You apply for the Expatrio Value Package by the 30th September 2024.

You will start your studies in the Winter Semester 2024.

You will arrive in Germany and activate your Blocked Account and Health Insurance by 31st October 2024.

Video submission guidelines:

Your video answers the above question in either English or German (subtitles are accepted too!).

Your video is no longer than 2 minutes, is in mp4 format, and does not include any copyrighted content.

Deadline for submitting your video submission is 30th September 2024.

Here are some key aspects that will be looked out for: 

Creative and original.

Clearly answers the question asked.

While high-quality videos will be recognized, we understand not everyone has access to equipment or skills. Your submission will still be considered fairly and won’t be judged solely on production quality.

You will not be judged on age, nationality, your academic background or any other similar demographics. 

BENEFIT:

First prize: €12,000

Second prize: €6,000

Third prize: €3,000

Prizes for winners from 4th to 10th place incl. 3 months’ rent, a new laptop, German language lessons, semester contribution fees.
