SCIENCE PO MASTERCARD FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP, FRANCE

LOCATION: France

The Mastercard Foundation works to provide access to inclusive and quality education to young people in Sub-Saharan Africa, and to enable as many of them as possible to secure dignified and fulfilling employment.

ELIGIBILITY:

Be a resident or citizen of a country in Sub-Saharan Africa. You must be legally resident in the region or be able to prove that you are temporarily studying or working elsewhere.

Show a willingness to commit to bringing about change in Africa and making a genuine impact on the region in the areas of public policy and major political, environmental and societal transitions.

Have a demonstrable need for higher education funding (please note that proof of your financial circumstances will be required as part of your application).

Provide a recommendation from your university.

Have obtained a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) by the following academic year. 

Be applying for a two-year Master’s programme at one of Sciences Po’s seven Graduate Schools. Applicants to one-year Master’s programmes, dual degree programmes or joint Master’s programmes are not eligible for the scholarship.

Have attained a minimum of C1 level in French or English, depending on the programme you are applying for (see the language requirements for each programme). Please note that programmes are either taught entirely in French, entirely in English, or in both languages.

Not have obtained or be working towards a prior Master’s degree.

Be under 35 at the start of the graduate academic year.

BENEFIT:

Scholarships cover the full cost of tuition and living expenses in France throughout the period of study at Sciences Po.

UC BERKELEY AFRICAN LEGAL IMPACT SCHOLARSHIP

The African Legal Impact Scholarship was developed to encourage enrollment of students from Africa seeking advanced legal education. Because funds are extremely limited, the African Legal Impact Scholarship can only be provided to two outstanding applicants each year.

ELIGIBILITY:

Citizenship or primary residence in Africa

Academic merit

A Statement of Intention describing what the scholarship recipient plans on accomplishing in Africa after graduating from the LL.M. executive track

Transcripts and letters of recommendation should be sent to LSAC well in advance in order to allow time for processing.

Students must be admitted to the LL.M. executive track program before they can apply for this scholarship. Scholarship application instructions will be provided to eligible admitted students.

Recipients must maintain a minimum grade standard of ‘P’ (pass) or higher in all classes during the first semester in order to maintain scholarship eligibility during the second semester, and students who begin the program in spring must also maintain the minimum grade standard during the second semester to maintain scholarship eligibility during the third semester.

BENEFIT:

This is a full-tuition waiver. Recipients will be responsible for paying only the $1,000 seat deposit, plus travel and living expenses.
