UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON GLOBAL MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIP

The UCL Global Master’s Scholarship aims to enable and encourage international students from lower-income backgrounds to pursue full-time master’s degree studies at UCL.

ELIGIBILITY:

Available to: Prospective students

Selection criteria: Financial need

Eligible fee status: Overseas

Eligible programmes: All postgraduate taught

Candidates can be from any country outside the UK but must fulfill all of the following criteria:

be eligible to pay the Overseas fee rate;

come from a lower-income background*;

AND have submitted a complete admission application (including the submission of references) for a full-time master’s degree at UCL in 2026/27.  Please note: Distance-learning options are not eligible for this fund; students must be coming to the UK to attend UCL in person

The scholarship is tenable for one year only unless the full-time programme is 2 years in length.  In that case the scholarship will be paid 50% in each year.

The UCL Global Masters Scholarship may be held alongside other scholarships, studentships, awards, or bursaries depending on the total value of other funds received by the student.

Scholarship recipients are obliged to inform the UCL Student Funding Office immediately of any other funding they are awarded towards their UCL Master’s degree studies, before or subsequent to the UCL Global Masters Scholarship being awarded.

BENEFIT:

The value of the bursary is £15,000.

There are up to 85 (eighty-five) scholarships available in 2026/27, with five ring-fenced for students from India and one for a student from Japan.

DUBLIN CITY UNIVERSITY, SCHOOL OF HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY—PHD SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The School of History and Geography is a dynamic and research-intensive school in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science are pleased to offer a full-time doctoral scholarship to an outstanding candidate in either history or geography, beginning in September 2026. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants should have a relevant undergraduate degree at first-class honours level or at least 2.1 level. It is desirable that they should hold a relevant master’s qualification. Candidates who are currently completing a master’s qualification are welcome to apply but must be able to begin full-time PhD research in September 2026. 

Research Areas: HISTORY and GEOGRAPHY. Applications in research areas not listed on the program website will be considered if the applicant has identified a suitable research supervisor from among the members of the staff.

Applicants should complete the application form below. Only applications using this form will be accepted. The following criteria will be evaluated: quality of the research proposal (including originality, potential research contribution and impact, clarity of proposal and methodology); feasibility of the proposed research; strength and suitability of the candidate; and match with the proposed supervisor and the school.

The decision of the assessment panel is expected to be announced in late March/early April 2026.

BENEFIT:

The successful candidate will receive a stipend of €25,000 per annum and a tuition fee waiver (EU or non-EU) for up to four years, subject to satisfactory annual progression.
