CALL TO APPLY FOR THE WOMEN IN AGRICULTURE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM FELLOWSHIP FOR THE AFRICA-AUSTRALIA PARTNERSHIP FOR CLIMATE-RESPONSIVE AGRICULTURE

 A new Fellowship for African women scientists focusing on agriculture and climate resilience is now open for applications. 

The Women in Agriculture Leadership Program Fellowship is a career development initiative that seeks to strengthen the capability, confidence, and influence of African women scientists to lead and participate in climate-resilient agricultural research. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must: 

Be African women scientists with a minimum of seven years of experience in agriculture, agrifood systems, gender, and climate, including design, development, dissemination, implementation, and advocacy at national, regional, and international levels. 

Have at least a master’s degree in a relevant discipline, which could include agriculture, agricultural economics, agricultural extension, natural resources, food science and nutrition, climate science, among others. 

Be nationals of target countries and residing in Africa. 

Clearly demonstrate their motivation and aspirations to influence gender-responsive, climate-resilient, and transformative research within their organizations and across agrifood systems. 

Be proficient in English or French.

FLEMISH MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING HASSELT UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS INCOMING STUDENTS

Application Deadline: Varies by Programme, but April 24: Final deadline for application at Flemish Government

LOCATION: Belgium

The Flemish Ministry of Education and Training awards various scholarships for students from around the world for master’s programmes in Flanders and Brussels.

ELIGIBILITY:

The applicant should have a high standard of academic performance: 

A Grade Point Average of 3.5 out of 4.0: www.scholaro.com/gpa-calculator/

A good knowledge of the English language and the applicant can provide proof thereof that is no older than 3 years at the time of application processing by the higher education institution (April 2026):

An overall band score of min. 7.0 on the IELTS test;

A min. total score of 94 on a TOEFL test;

A C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference;

Or similar results in another official English language test (recognized by UHasselt);

online language tests of IELTS and TOEFL will also be accepted.

Only students who are currently not enrolled at a Flemish higher education institution are eligible (exception: international students who are enrolled in a preparatory programme in order to start a master’s programme in September).

The student has to be accepted by UHasselt to be able to receive the scholarship. Even if the decision to accept the student is taken after the selection of the Master Mind Scholarships programme, this criterion applies.

Students who enroll for only a preparatory programme, a bridging programme or a distance learning programme are not eligible.

All nationalities (except for Russian) can apply, but the previous degree obtained should be from a higher education institution located outside Flanders.

Students can not combine this scholarship with another scholarship from the Flemish government or an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.

BENEFIT:

The Scholarship includes a grant of €10,225 and a tuition fee waiver per academic year (60 ECTS)
