The Carr-Smith award is open to UK, EU and Overseas applicants studying research programmes in the School of Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology who are due to commence their research programme in September 2025.
ELIGIBILITY:
This award is open to UK, EU and Overseas applicants studying campus-based research programmes in the School of Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology within the College of Arts and Law.
Applications for all Doctoral Scholarships for the College of Arts and Law should be submitted through the Arts and Humanities Research Council funding website. Students can find more information about Arts and Humanities Research Council funding through the Midlands4Cities Doctoral Training Partnership website.
All eligible Arts and Humanities Research Council funding applications will be considered for the Carr-Smith Scholarship. Please note that other schemes are available that have alternative processes and may require a separate application.
BENEFIT:
Home fees (£4,921 for 2025 entry) plus a stipend for 3 years at the UKRI rate.
The current UKRI rate for 2024/25 is £19,237.
Please note for Overseas applicants, the award will contribute the home fee value towards the international fee, plus the stipend for 3 years at the UKRI rate.
