SIR HENRY THOMAS SCHOLARSHIP FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDY IN HISPANIC STUDIES AT UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

They are seeking applications from outstanding candidates for a postgraduate scholarship for research in Hispanic Studies. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates should have a first-class or upper-second-class degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. To apply for the doctoral award, candidates should also have completed, or be completing, a master’s degree in a relevant subject.

This award is available to prospective doctoral students.

Applications for all doctoral scholarships for the College of Arts and Law should be submitted through the Arts and Humanities Research Council funding website. Students can find more information about Arts and Humanities Research Council funding through the Midlands4Cities Doctoral Training Partnership website. All eligible Arts and Humanities Research Council funding applications and Economic and Social Research Council funding will be considered for the Music Scholarship. Please note that other schemes are available that have alternative processes and may require a separate application.

BENEFIT:

The Sir Henry Thomas Scholarship provides Home fees and a stipend of £12,100 for three years, subject to satisfactory progress.  The successful candidate would commence study between September 2025 and January 2026.

International sudents can apply and if successful the Home fee will be a contribution to the Overseas Fee.

The Responsible Impact Scholarship supports responsible leaders of the future.

They develop ethical and responsible global MBA graduates to become agile, adaptable, resilient leaders with a global perspective. The successful candidate will demonstrate their commitment to responsible leadership.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for this full-fee scholarship you must meet the following criteria (MBA Full Fee Scholarship Regulations – 2025 Entry):

hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) for admission in September 2025 to the Full-time MBA programme

have substantive managerial experience of 3 years or more

hold the equivalent of a UK 2:1 honours degree (applicants who do not meet this requirement but can demonstrate relevant work experience above the minimum plus significant career progression may also be considered)

perform well at interview across all competency areas

hold an English language qualification of IELTS 6.5 or its equivalent with no subskill below 6.0 (if your first language is not English).

completed the scholarship application form including submitting an essay of no more than 1,500 words in response to the question listed. Submissions need to be in English.

Candidates need to complete an online application form including an essay. Applications and essays will be reviewed by the School’s MBA Scholarship Committee. Links to the application form will be sent to all eligible offer holders via email.
