UNIVERSITÄT LEIPZIG ERASMUS MUNDUS MASTER IN “GLOBAL STUDIES” (EMGS)

The Erasmus Mundus Master in “Global Studies” (EMGS) is offered by an international consortium of five high-profile European universities, together with partner universities all over the world. It provides excellent training for future careers both inside and outside academia, training experts who can analyze and navigate globalization processes from multiple perspectives.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

A three-year bachelor’s degree or the recognized equivalent from an accredited institution in the humanities or social sciences, with a minimum of 15% global studies–relevant courses, e.g. courses in the field of History, Area Studies, Economics, Cultural Studies, Sociology, Political Science and Human Geography.

Excellent English skills: Proficiency in English needs to be proven with an official English certificate as listed below under “Application Documents”. Native English speakers must provide proof of knowledge of a language other than English at the A2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

Knowledge of another foreign language at the A2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (to be proven by a high school certificate and/or an internationally recognized test, score certificates, or equivalent proof of participation in language courses)

The recognition of the respective documents and degrees is based on the requirements set by the German Central Office for Foreign Education. In some countries, another year of study in a master’s programme might be necessary in order to be eligible for admission. See also the Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen.

BENEFIT:

The EMGS Consortium charges participation costs of €2,300 per year.

The participation costs cover the participation of all courses offered within the EMGS programme and also includes support for administrative and organizational issues. However, students will need to cover travel costs to the winter and summer schools.

Should a student fail to have met all of the required examination criteria by the end of the fourth semesters of the course full participation costs will be incurred for each further term the student need to be enrolled in order to complete the programme.

Students with special needs (behavioral, physical, emotional, or learning difficulties) can apply for financial support provided by additional funds of the Erasmus Mundus programme.

ARTEZ INSTITUTE OF THE ARTS NL SCHOLARSHIP FOR SEPTEMBER 2025

LOCATION: Netherland

The NL Scholarship is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s or master’s in the Netherlands. This scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science together with Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.

ELIGIBILITY:

This scholarship will be granted solely to students who meet the following criteria:

you have a Non-EU/EEA nationality

you must have passed the entrance exam and have been accepted into one of ArtEZ’s full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s courses

you have enrolled through Studielink

you will start your study in September 2025 as a first-year student

you have never studied in the Netherlands before

you will have to pay the institutional tuition fee

you are an excellent student

Please note: every year we receive a lot of applications for this scholarship, but we have only a few scholarships to award.

You can start your application as of 1 February 2025, after you have been admitted to a course of ArtEZ. The Student Affairs Department will invite you to apply for a scholarship. You will receive an email with all the information. Before 1 May 2025, they must have received all the required documents. Incomplete applications and applications received after the deadline will not be processed.
The required documents are:

a copy of your passport

a motivation letter (this motivation letter—no longer than 2 pages/no more than 450 words—contains an in-depth explanation as to the reasons why you have chosen to apply)

a recommendation letter (this letter attests your excellence; you may strengthen your application by adding awards you may have received or mentioning exhibitions, concerts or other events you may have participated in)

BENEFIT:

The scholarship amounts to €5,000. You will receive this in the first year of your study. Please note that this is not a full-tuition scholarship.
