With a view to promoting human resource capacities in the developing countries and to enhancing international understanding and friendship among nations and peoples , the Polish National Commission for UNESCO and the UNESCO Chair for Science, Technology, and Engineering at the AGH University of Krakow (Poland) are placing at the disposal of UNESCO twenty-eight (28) fellowships for the benefit of a number of developing Member States . Beneficiaries of these fellowships will be given the opportunity to undertake an individual research programme in the field of Science, Technology and Engineering for a duration of 6 months between 1 October 2025 and 31 March 2026.

Candidates should refer to the Annex III for the specific criteria and qualifications required by each field of research and project.
Note that for some fields of research and projects, only the candidates from certain regions are eligible to apply. Please refer to Annex III and Annex IV for detailed information.
Due to the intergovernmental character of UNESCO, individual applications will not be accepted by UNESCO. Only applications endorsed by the National Commissions for UNESCO will be considered. Applicants should submit their application documents through the National Commissions.
The National Commission of invited Member States will select qualified candidates and transmit to UNESCO the Letters of Endorsement and all the application documents of the nominated candidates, by e-mail to agh.poland@unesco.org (with uniune25@agh.edu.pl and Fellowships.Engineering@unesco.pl in copy) by Monday 26 May 2025, Midnight Paris time at the latest. Candidatures with incomplete applications, or submitted after this deadline won’t be considered.
Note: UNESCO and the Government of the Republic of Poland do not provide financial assistance for passport or visa expenses. Selected beneficiaries are responsible for obtaining their own visas.

Facilities Offered by the Polish Authorities:
Free tuition for six (6) months and access to the university facilities based on the local regulations.
A Monthly allowance of 1800 PLN for BSc degree students and 2200 PLN for MSc degree students (1 USD = approximately 4,0 PLN), payment in accordance with national taxation regulations. This allowance is intended to cover all living expenses and accommodation in Poland.
A one-time special allowance of 1800 PLN for BSc degree students or 2200 PLN for MSc to be paid upon arrival in Poland, this sum will cover different activities related to your stay in Krakow, such as an obligatory medical check-up upon arrival (in accordance with the internal regulations for all students and fellows); cultural, historical and/or touristic visits, conferences, workshops, and seminars related to your studies.
Facilities Offered by UNESCO:
International travel expenses (by the most direct, economical route): from the beneficiary’s country to and from Poland will be covered by UNESCO;
Health insurance for fellowship beneficiaries who are declared medically fit: UNESCO fellowship holders may be covered by a health insurance policy taken out by the organization for the duration of the fellowship. UNESCO will subscribe the health insurance on behalf of awarded fellows and cover the cost incurred.
One-time special pocket allowance of US$120 (one hundred and twenty US dollars).
