CURTIN UNIVERSITY HDR SCHOLARSHIP, SCHOOL OF MOLECULAR AND LIFE SCIENCES PHD SCHOLARSHIP

Three PhD student scholarships are available in the School of Molecular and Life Sciences at Curtin University, Australia. The successful candidates will work with Associate Professor Guohua Jia on his Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellowship project (2D nanomaterial heterostructures for photocatalytic hydrogen production), ARC Discovery project (Inorganic/organic Hybrids for flexible thermoelectric generators) and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem – Zelman Cowen Academic Initiatives (ZCAI) Joint Project (Modern X-ray detectors based on 2D metal halide perovskites). These projects aim to develop inorganic nanocrystals with controlled size, shape, composition that are responsive to light, heat and x-ray towards energy harvesting and storage, thermoelectric and optoelectronic devices. This scholarship application is open until filled.

Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree (first-class honours or upper second-class honours) in Chemistry, Materials Engineering or related fields.

Applicants with either Master or Bachelor degrees with scientific publications and research experiences in chemistry, materials science, electronic devices or related fields are preferred.

The successful candidate will receive a stipend valued around $29,000 per annum.

The duration of the scholarship shall be for three years with a possible extension of up to six months, provided the student meets eligibility guidelines as per the conditions of the award.

The scholarship will cover tuition fees for the duration of the award.
