DEAKIN VICE-CHANCELLOR’S INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

LOCATION: Australia

Recognizing international students with consistently high academic performance and the potential to make a leading contribution to Deakin and the communities we serve. 

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible, you must:

be a new international student enrolling in a Deakin coursework degree

meet the entry requirements for your course, including English language requirements

have achieved at least an 85% average (or equivalent) in previous studies.

This scholarship is not available to international students enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine (H911) program.

Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee selection. Due to strong competition, higher academic results may be required.

If you’re not selected for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, you’ll automatically be considered for the Deakin International Scholarship.

Complete the International Scholarship Program application form (PDF, 536KB) and email it to Deakin International Admissions at least one month before your course starts. Only successful applicants will be contacted with an outcome: Email Deakin International Admissions

BENEFIT:

Value and duration

100% or 50% of your tuition fees (depending on scholarship outcome).

Participation in the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP), a requirement of the scholarship.

Priority access to on-campus accommodation (at your own cost and subject to availability).

This scholarship is available for the normal duration of your course.

PRESIDENT’S ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE INITIATIVE PHD AWARD AT UBC

LOCATION: Canada

President’s Academic Excellence Initiative PhD Awards (PAEIPA) totalling approximately $4.3 million per year are provided to recognize the significant contributions of PhD students to the research activities of the university. The awards are available to all new and continuing PhD students, except Joint PhD students who are not being assessed tuition at UBC for the term.

ELIGIBILITY:

Citizenship: Canadian, Permanent Resident, and International

Degree Level: Doctoral

The awards are available to all new and continuing PhD students except:

Those students who are not assessed tuition (ie. Joint PhD students who are not being assessed tuition at UBC for the term)

Note: Prior to September 2022, students who had their tuition paid by a sponsor or students who received a UBC staff tuition waiver were not eligible for the PAEIPA.  As of September 2022, they are now eligible.

The award will be assigned automatically to eligible students; students do not need to apply.

Note: As with all tuition awards at UBC, students are assigned this funding in three installments—each installment is 1/3 of the total annual amount, assigned at the beginning of each term (September, January and May) of the academic year.

BENEFIT:

$1,500 per year for international students in any year ($500/term)
