CARMIGNAC PHOTOJOURNALISM AWARD

The 15th edition of the Carmignac Award supports the production of a 9-month investigative photo report documenting these violations and the consequences of intensive fishing in Southeast Asia.

Interested photographers are invited to submit their applications before 19 August 2024 at 11:59 p.m. (GMT) via the following link.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Carmignac Photojournalism Award is open to all photographers, of all nationalities. Participation can be individual or collaborative. It is not necessary to have a press card to participate.

All candidates will be informed of the pre-jury and jury deliberations by email. Once the jury has made its final decision, the laureate will be contacted by phone. Unfortunately, it is not possible to give individual feedback to candidates who are not selected for the Award.

BENEFIT:

Selected by an international jury, the laureates receive a €50,000 grant to carry out a 9-month field report with the support of the Fondation Carmignac, which produces, upon their return, a travelling exhibition and a dedicated website.

M&C SAATCHI GROUP ART FOR CHANGE PRIZE COMPETITION

Applications are now open for the free-to-enter Art for Change Prize 2024. As part of a shared mission in making art, culture, and creativity accessible to everyone, this prize is a celebration of emerging artistic talent. It will highlight and stimulate dialogue around visual arts as a medium for positive global and social change and give exposure to emerging artists worldwide. This year’s prize asks artists to creatively respond to the theme ‘Tomorrow’ing: Visions of a better future’.

ELIGIBILITY:

Open to emerging artists around the world in the first five years of active practice.

The prize is available to emerging artists based in the following M&C Saatchi key global regions: Americas, Asia, Australia & New Zealand, Europe, Middle East & Africa and UK.

To apply artists must be aged 18 or over and within the first five years of what they hope to be a successful artistic career.

Accepted media includes painting, drawing, illustration, photography, collage, 2D mixed-media, video or film.

Submitted works must creatively respond to the theme ‘Tomorrow’ing: Visions of a better future’ and have been executed since 1 January 2021.

Works must be stable and capable of being shipped and installed on a walled surface.

Submitted works must be available between 1 October 2024 and 31 March 2025 for an exhibition in London.

One application per artist is permitted with a maximum of five artworks accepted.

Artists may only enter the prize in the region associated with their country of residence.

The artwork(s) must be the participants own work(s) and the participant warrants that they have full title to the artwork(s) and that they have all rights to submit the artwork(s).

BENEFIT:

A total prize fund of £20,000 will be split between six regional winners, five to receive £2,000 each and one overall winner to receive £10,000.

All artists will exhibit their winning works in a dedicated exhibition at Saatchi Gallery in London, a recognised authority in contemporary art, where the overall winner will be announced in November 2024. The exhibition will be open to the public until January 2025.
