ECTRIMS CLINICAL TRAINING

ECTRIMS offers a Clinical Training Fellowship Programme for neurologists and other physicians to provide the opportunity for successful candidates to learn the latest techniques in patient management and care and to help foster their careers as MS physicians.

ELIGIBILITY:

For physicians to obtain mentored clinical training in a European MS centre to enhance their MS clinical care expertise

One-year funded fellowships in a European laboratory or clinic

Citizens of any country are eligible to apply to this programme. However, clinical training must be undertaken in a European laboratory or clinic that is different than the applicant’s current workplace of 12 months or longer

The following list (click here) provides information on previous host institutions, but applicants are encouraged to apply for their fellowships at other European institutions not listed in this document

The application requires documents from the candidate, the proposed mentor, and the proposed host training institute, as well as other professional referees

Successful fellows and their mentors will be asked to provide progress and financial accounting reports at the end of the fellowship year

Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent medical degree prior to application for the training programme. Having completed a relevant internship and residency is desirable, but candidates who have not yet completed internships or residencies are eligible to apply.

Medically trained candidates with a specialty interest in neurology or any other field of medicine that is related and important to MS care and management are eligible (for instance, electrophysiology, physiatry/rehabilitation medicine, psychiatry, etc.).

In general, successful applicants will be under 40 years of age at the time of application; however, applicants who are older may still apply, and any special circumstances may be considered.

IMPORTANT: this programme is primarily targeted at, and priority will be given to, applicants from less-developed countries where MS is a prevalent disease, to provide the opportunity for clinical training in a European setting where MS is a focus.

Candidates and their mentors must affirm that there will be no language barriers that will impede the training experience.

BENEFIT:

ECTRIMS will provide a stipend of 13,750.00 EUR for a three-month programme, 27,500.00 EUR for a six-month programme, or 55,000.00 EUR for a one-year training programme.

ECTRIMS will also provide economy transportation from the successful candidate’s home location to and from the training city; travel expenses for family members cannot be provided. Transportation expenses will be reimbursed directly to the fellow, upon submission of receipts to ECTRIMS.

FRANCE EXCELLENCE EIFFEL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Eiffel Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help French institutions of higher education attract top international students to their master’s and doctoral programs. Its purpose is to train future foreign decision-makers in the private and public spheres in priority areas of study. It gives opportunity to the future foreign decision-makers of the private and public sectors, in priority areas of study, and encourages applicants up to 25 years old from developing countries at master’s level, and applicants up to 30 years old from developing and industrialized countries at PhD level.

ELIGIBILITY:

This prestigious program recognizes international students nominated by a French institution.

Contact the Campus France office in your country of origin or the Cooperation and Culture Office of the French Embassy; both can advise you about your study plans.


Contact the French educational institution or research organization by visiting its website or by emailing or telephoning its office of international relations to learn how to apply for admission
(including the date by which your application must be received). Inform them of your wish to be considered for an Eiffel scholarship.


It is your responsibility to choose the school or university that best suits your plans to study or conduct research in France.


All French institutions of higher education can nominate candidates for Eiffel scholarships.

The educational institution accepts and supports your application for the Eiffel scholarship. The institution files your application online using Campus France’s dedicated website. Applications submitted directly by students or by institutions outside France will not be accepted.

Eiffel Programme rules – 2024 Session

BENEFIT:

Master level:
Eiffel scholarship recipients receive a monthly allowance of €1,181 in addition to certain direct services, notably international airfare, domestic travel support, insurance, assistance in seeking housing, and cultural activities.


Doctoral level:
Eiffel scholarship recipients receive a monthly allowance of €1,700 in addition to certain direct services, notably international airfare, domestic travel support, insurance, assistance in seeking housing, and cultural activities.
