SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR STUDYING AT UNIVERSITIES IN KAZAKHSTAN

Scholarship program for studying at universities in Kazakhstan.

Candidates can submit their documents online from March 30 to May 31, 2026, until 23:59 Astana time via the following link: https://studyin.kz/admission

The operator of the scholarship program is the Center for International Programs JSC.

Applications for full-time scholarship programs are completed in Kazakh, Russian, or English.

ELIGIBILITY:

Requirements for applicants for the bachelor’s degree program:

The candidate will receive higher and/or postgraduate education under the scholarship program if he/she is studying for the first time at each of these levels;

A copy of your identity document, including a copy of your refugee certificate;

A copy of the document on the previous level of education with a transcript and annex (if any) and a notarized translation into Kazakh, Russian or English. For applicants for a bachelor’s degree – the average score of the document on secondary education – at least “good” (except for persons with a refugee certificate). In their absence, the applicant must submit a certificate from the organization where he studies, information on grades for the current period, along with a notarized translation into Kazakh, Russian or English;

A motivational essay in Kazakh, Russian or English;

2 letters of recommendation in Kazakh, Russian or English from the educational institution or employer where the candidate studied;

A medical certificate of health for study abroad, issued by the official health authority of the applicant’s place of residence, as well as a medical certificate confirming the absence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and AIDS;

Requirements for applicants to the Master’s degree program:

The candidate will receive higher and (or) postgraduate education under the scholarship program if he/she is studying for the first time at each of these levels;

Copy of identity document;

A copy of the document on the previous level of education with transcript and appendix (if any) and a notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian or English (Bachelor’s or specialist’s diploma with an average score of at least 3.0 (out of 4.0) GPA or its equivalent received at an educational institution;

A motivational essay in Kazakh, Russian or English;

2 letters of recommendation in Kazakh, Russian or English from the educational institution or employer where the candidate studied;

A medical certificate of health for study abroad, issued by the official health authority of the applicant’s place of residence, as well as a medical certificate confirming the absence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and AIDS;

International certificate confirming proficiency in a foreign language:

English proficiency: Test of English as a Foreign Language Institutional Testing Programm Internet-based Test (TOEFL IBT, minimum score – 46, Test of English as a Foreign Language Paper-based testing (TOEFL PBT) minimum score – 453, International English Language Tests System Academic (IELTS Academic), minimum score – 5.5;

for German language proficiency: Deutsche Sprachpruеfung fuer den Hochschulzugang (DSH, Niveau B2/B2 level), TestDaF-Prufung (Niveau B2/B2 level);

French language proficiency: Test de Français International (TFI) – not lower than level B2 in the reading and listening sections, Diplome d’Etudes en Langue français (DELF), level B2; Diplome Approfondi de Langue français (DALF), level B2, Test de connaissance du français (TCF) – not lower than 400 points;

Chinese language proficiency HSK – Hanyu Shuiping Kaushi, not lower than level 4;

An international certificate confirming proficiency in a foreign language is not required for individuals whose country of residence is the official or language of instruction at the previous levels of education and whose educational institution has been in operation for no more than 5 years.

Google PhD Fellowships directly support graduate students as they pursue their PhD.

Nurturing and maintaining strong relations with the academic community is a top priority at Google. The Google PhD Fellowship Program was created to recognize outstanding graduate students doing exceptional and innovative research in areas relevant to computer science and related fields. Fellowships support promising PhD candidates of all backgrounds who seek to influence the future of technology.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Google PhD Fellowship Program welcomes applications for outstanding PhD students worldwide. The details of each fellowship vary by region. Please see their FAQ for eligibility requirements and application instructions.

Students must remain enrolled full-time in the PhD program for the duration of the fellowship or forfeit the award.

Google employees and their spouses, children, and members of their household are not eligible.

Students that are already supported by a comparable industry award are not eligible. Government or non-profit organization funding is exempt.

Past awardees from the PhD fellowship program are not eligible to apply again.

Application Process: PhD students from Africa, Australia, Canada, East Asia, Europe, India, Latin America, the Middle East, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and the United States, must be nominated for the fellowship by their university. Applications must be submitted by an official representative of the university during the application window.
