HEINRICH BOLL STIFTUNG SCHOLARSHIPS IN GERMANY

LOCATION: Germany

The scholarship department of the Heinrich Böll Foundation grants scholarships to graduates, and doctoral students from outside Germany. The scholarships are towards Masters Degree or PhD degree in all subjects offered at state or state-recognized universities.

ELIGIBILITY:

For EU and non-EU students who have who are nt educated in Germany.

International applicants have to prove their proficiency in German. Good or very good knowledge of the German language is required (at least B2 Level or DSH2).

The Heinrich Böll Foundation awards scholarships to German and foreign students in accordance with the guidelines issued by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt). Scholarships are awarded for the regular period of study.

BENEFIT:

For Masters Degree: €934 per month plus various individual allowances, possibly health insurance or similar.

For PhD Degree: €1,200 per month, plus € 100 mobility allowance per month, plus various individual allowances

UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER DEAN’S DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

LOCATION: United Kingdom

These scholarships are open to all nationalities and across all research areas, and will be of interest to students of the highest calibre who have the commitment and desire to work on challenging research projects in a world leading research environment.

ELIGIBILITY:

This funding is available to all nationalities.

Have submitted an application by the deadline for a PhD programme to start in September 2024.

Hold (or expect to achieve) a first class or 2.1 UK honours undergraduate degree (or international equivalent).

Ideally hold a master’s qualification at merit or distinction (or international equivalent).

Be able to demonstrate potential for academic research. This may include undergraduate projects, placements, internships, contributions to publications or articles, promoting research to a wider audience, prizes for previous work or stetting up collaborations with other groups.

Be able to demonstrate involvement in broader activities, e.g. outreach, volunteering, community engagement, engagement in EDIA and other extra-curricular activities.

Fully funded award includes:

Tuition fees at the international rate

Annual maintenance stipend equivalent to UKRI minimum stipend rate

£1,000 Research Training Support Grant per year
