CO-FUNDED MONASH GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP (CF-MGS)

Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarships are provided by Monash University to support students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees. These scholarships are co-funded by Monash University and the enrolling faculty/academic unit and are available to help support students with living costs whilst studying at Monash.

ELIGIBILITY:

You must be one of the following:

An Australian citizen

A New Zealand citizen

Australian permanent resident

Australian humanitarian visa holder

An International student

meet Monash’s competitive scholarship selection process requirements and

meet Monash’s English language proficiency requirements.

This scholarship is also available to students undertaking Joint Research Awards when Monash University is the home institution.

Monash scholarships are very competitive and are awarded based on your academic record, any research outputs and prior research experience.

If successful in receiving a CF-MGS, please ensure you familiarise yourself with the conditions and benefits as specified in the policy and procedures.

Application for graduate research scholarships is done at the time of applying for your course, unless you are already enrolled.  Whether you are a new or current student, the same application process is used for both admission and/or scholarship via our Applicant Portal.  You do not need to specify which scholarship you are applying as you are automatically considered for all graduate research scholarships (where eligible).

BENEFIT:

The CF-MGS provides:

living allowance (stipend), and

relocation allowance, if eligible.

Successful international applicants will also be awarded a faculty tuition paying scholarship.

SYDNEY QUANTUM ACADEMY (SQA) PHD SCHOLARSHIPS AT MACQUARIE UNIVERSITY

The SQA PhD scholarship aims to address gender imbalance among students pursuing a career in quantum technology. Therefore, for reasons of building greater diversity, SQA has decided that scholarship places will be reserved for students who identify as women in this round. The scholarship is available for excellent applicants currently undertaking a full-time PhD program in quantum technology as well as for newly commencing candidates.

ELIGIBILITY:

SQA PhD Scholarship and SQA Partnership Scholarships: 

Scholarships are open to domestic and international students.

Domestic students include Australian citizens, permanent residents, a person entitled to stay in Australia, or to enter and stay in Australia, without any limitation as to time and a New Zealand citizen.

International students must either hold or be able to obtain a valid visa for the duration of the specified term upon being awarded the scholarship.

You must be a student who has commenced or is due to commence your PhD studies from Jan 2024 – October 2024. International students may also commence in the first half of 2025. Students who commenced in 2023 or prior are not eligible.

SQA PhD Scholarship: 

You are expected to apply for or be enrolled in a full-time PhD program at an SQA partner university. PhD projects must be in a field related to quantum technology. Please note you will not be offered an SQA PhD scholarship unless you have a PhD offer of admission.

You must have the support of an academic staff member at one of the partner universities. BENEFIT:

Stipend value (AUD): At least $37,684 per annum (pro rata) for a maximum duration of four years (full-time equivalent).

Other components: For successful international applicants, student tuition, health cover and visa fees will be waived.
